Fluent in Dutch. (duh)
Fluent English. (As in, correcting grammar and spelling from native speakers fluent.)
Can manage easily in German, as long as I do not have to write.
Can manage with some difficulty in French.
Can manage with some difficulty in Suid Afrikaans.
Can read simple Norwegian texts. (It’s not a real language, just a mix of Dutch, German and English. :diablo: )
Can read simple Danish texts. (It’s not a real language, just a mix of Dutch, German and English. :diablo: )

Considering STN is about 25 mins for me in the car, I will pop along on June 26th – be good to catch up again Paul, and to meet you Dan…
I fancy the Wales low flying stuff tenthije – any dates?
cheers!
Well, Fairford is 14/15 july so that would make my expedition* either the week before or the week after. Depending on work schedule and other more interesting last minute holiday destinations that may pop up. :p
Ooh, and then there are of course the financial considerations as well. It’s one thing paying huge amounts of money on UK petrol, but to then have to write of my car because it has more silicones in it then Pamela Anderson… that’s another thing altogether! 😀
* Any trip to Wales counts as a expedition in my book! 😉
I am thinking of going to the Fairford airshow this year, possibly combining with with LHR and/or LGW and/or the RAF/USAF low-fly ranges in Wales. Anyone interested?
Nice show, but to say it was about aircraft “before the war”, well… perhaps they meant WW2? Since it was all about WW1 with the last 4 minutes about Fokker packing up the workshop and moving from Germany to the Netherlands.
Great shots, love the 330!
As for your AMS visit. The weather wont hold you back (for once). 50% chance for sun, only 10% chance for rain. Will probably go to AMS myself as well saturday, so if you are interested in a ride just let me know you ETA/ETD etc.
G-CONC, will be dismantled on Sunday 1st April. Apparently, the cost of the land it sits on is too high! The model has been in place for 16 years.
The concorde model is in the middle of a roundabout. So the land there is completely useless. You can not build on a roundabout of that size.
Congrats on your 1000th! Photo sure gets my stamp of approval! 😉
Today I only managed to get my 750th at JP. Have some way to go to catch up with you.
I may not be up to date with the recent developments with VLM, but didn’t the company show some serious interest in Embraer 170 and 190 a few years ago? Did they place an order with Embraer or not?
First time I heard about VLM being interested in the jungle jets.
The owner of VLM is the same guy behind Rekkof, so VLM was always assumed to go for new-build F70s. Or at least wait untill Rekkof was officially declared dead. This has not happened. In fact, the last few weeks a lot of new developments have occured that seem to indicate that Rekkof will give the [i]final/i] final go/no go decission this may. And that it will likely be a GO! We’ll know by then. Of course the 146 is only an interim aircraft, as mentioned in the VLM press release!
Looks like there not getting them then oh well.Did they not want Fokker 70’s some time back?
See above. 2nd hand F70s are near impossible to get. KLM Cithoppers takes them even before the “for sale” sticker is tagged on the windscreen. That’s where the Rekkof story comes in.
Next to the SLM 743 a (unknown) 737 will visit as well. Despite large demand there will be NO further charters. Since apparantly there is a lot more demand regular operators may use bigger equipment then normally. Here are the times (all time local):
SLM 743
08MAR07 ETD AMS 10:00 – ETA NCL 10:05
08MAR07 ETD NCL 23:45 – ETA AMS 01:45
Mystery 737 (likely Inter or Transavia):
08MAR07 ETD AMS 10:20 – ETA NCL 10:25
08MAR07 ETD NCL 23:30 – ETA AMS 01:35
This visit might for many well be the last chance to catch this plane. At luchtvaartnieuws.nl it is reported that SLM is looking into replacing the 743. They are apparantly looking at the MD11 and A340. Their MD82s are on the way out as well
Shame the BAe 146 ended 🙁 Are VLM still intrested in the RNAF Fokker 60?
Regards
James
If they are, they are royally late. Two of the four F60s have been sold to the Chilean Air Force. The remaining two will remain with the RNLAF for some time stationed in the carribean. After that they will join the Chilean Air Force as well.
Also interesting a bit further south at Edwards, I can spot a F15 with canards! At least 3 V22s and I believe the 747 with the laser nose.
Nice photos!
Last photo is an Air France A340-300.
And so the Airlinerworld curse strikes again! :diablo:
ANA 777
Not that good a photo edit really.
