The new seats do look good. I wonder if part of the One World Qatar Airways deal included the upgrade of the One World fleet? Maybe Qatar didn’t want to be shown up by their alliance partners and insisted on improvements in return for their powerful ME network? AA, IB and CX have all upgraded over the past year. OW certainly seems to be moving faster than SA on upgrades.

The figures are a little misleading. Last year fb invested tens of millions in research and development, once you factor that in their profits were actually up on the year before. Their share price is only down half a percent today so I doubt this is the beginning of the end.

That’s not actually their new livery (and as far as I’m aware, they’re not getting one).
That’s just someone’s photoshop creation, certainly there’s been no press release from Iberia.

Most of the major flight trackers (Flight Aware, Flight Radar 24 etc.) have their own private radar beacons to track the aircraft, I know http://www.flightradar24.com/ is real time with the exception of FAA traffic which has a legally required lag of 5 minutes.

Edit: my bad, they don’t use Radar but ADS-B http://www.flightradar24.com/how-it-works

The 3 things you mentioned all come from the airport data systems. The same systems that show the flight information on screens at the airport.
The actual tracking of the flight in the air is probably done by radar, which is why ocean and remote areas aren’t covered.

The BBC had someone on a news report the other day whinging her JSA wasn’t rising with inflation… Erm, excuse me. Do you think my (and most other working individuals) salary is?
I’d like to know why she thinks she’s more deservid of an income rise than the working population.

Well, every cloud has a silver lining 😀
As a spotter I don’t mind if the new runway is delayed. At present you can tell with 95% certainty what runway an aircraft will land on. Add a third runway to the mix and things might not be so clean cut!

The freshly painted 77W was rolled out the DFW hangar today 🙂

AA did a photoshoot on the apron with an impressive Texan sunset as a backdrop (I’ll post the link tomorrow when I get on a computer if someone else doesn’t beat me to it).

Just a heads up for all the LHR spotters on the forum, it’s scheduled to arrive at 08:40 as AA050 on Sunday 3rd March (let’s hope for some good weather).

I hate to call fake, but that looks like a conifer tree to me? Which typically grow between 12-24 inches a year depending on the species.

If that bike was left there in 1914, it would be about 100ft of the ground by now 😀

As always, very sad news. Kind of reminds me of KE801 🙁
