24 Gallons in each nacelle tank + whatever the oil cooler and prop dome takes.
Mind you they need it, the amount that leaks out….

I’ve heard that Coventry international spaceport isn’t the best place for GA – we’re in the Big blue hangers behind all of Air Atlantique’s assorted classic aeroplanes and derelicts.
Dunno how the system works, but you need to get parking in the AA area or alternatively one of the flying clubs on that side of the airfield in order to get to Hangar 7.
HOWEVER: This is the last week that we’ll be inside. Work on PY is just about complete and we’ll be changing over to G AMSV in a few weeks and working alfresco!!

So Janie came to Coventry and didn’t say hello to the Dak gang? Disappointing 🙂 At least 2 Forum regulars + a few more members were busy hauling wings into their rightful place on the 26th.
G AMPY now looks like an aeroplane now – did a feather check on the props today (after yours truly topped her up with 40 gallons of oil. Yes that’s GALLONS..).

Beat me to it Will 🙂

Gutted I was unable to make it 🙁
Next time.

Just to add my congratulations Martin. Well Done!! I’ve seen how difficult it is to get aviation type businesses moving and funded – to get this far forward without some tw@t in a bank getting in the way speaks volumes!
If you ever need a Dak, I might know of one or two 🙂

Normally, ground power is used whenever possible to save the onboard battery (or batteries). Especially true on older designs. Where possible, all servicing and starts would be done on external power with internal power only used when absolutely necessary. Otherwise, what would happen if forced to land away from home, where the correct GPU is not available, or in the case of a scramble when the GPU goes tech?
My opinion anyway 🙂

I’ll probably be there on the 23rd as one of Dave K’s happy crew, lurking around SV looking industrious.

Classic British Aircraft (Disc Wings) had an Episode on the Shack and there was some footage of the Shack being run up. Apparently she’s run up very regularly – Will J will know more.

😀 😀
I’ll be bloody glad when the airshow season kicks off again. Might give the whingers and complainers something else to concentrate on.
No prob with your posting Mark.

Thanks Spookyboss – the twin astrodome mod has had us guessing. I assume that it’s only possible on birds that haven’t had the bulkhead moved and the extra row of seats and window added?
Ref the heater – should that be WHEN it works, it works very nicely? 🙂 It’s just that one of the pilots doing a conversion course a few weeks ago here suffered a non functioning heater and was complaining bitterly.. Luckily not our aeroplane!

I’ve been driving for over 21 years now.. Christ, I’m tired.
Passed 2nd time after about 20 lessons and my first car was a Morris Marina. Things could only improve after that.
Worst moment is going backwards over the central reservation on a dual cabbageway, after loosing it big time on the preceding roundabout. That was in my Alfa 75, 9 years ago.
I’ve a nicely scabby Escort Cabrio now – a restoration project (bwahahahaa!). Went topless for the first time in 2005 last Friday. And unintentionally cleaned out the winters’ accumulation of rubbish at 80 mph. Erm, oops.

There are a few Daks with two Astrodomes – I assume that it’s a Nav training or observation thing.
The pipe on the exhaust feeds fresh air into the heat exchanger around the exhaust to provide heating in the cabin – opinions vary on it’s effectiveness!
