Ok Andy that makes sense! As Steve says, the aircraft tries to rotate around the propshaft, and with no lift the wing will be pushed down. I didn’t get as far as diagrams and tried to work it out in my head – never a good plan!

Nice critique Andy – very impressive.

Initial thought on the wing drop question – assuming that the prop is turning anticlockwise from the cockpit, it would be trying to drag the airframe in the same direction with the lift from the wings countering this. If both wings stalled at the same time, then the inertia from the engine and prop would force the port wing down.

If the prop turns the other way, I’ve run out of ideas – or it’s torque reaction.

Nice one! I’ve only done the marriage/divorce thing once so far. Just make it a loooooong engagement (as Mexicanbob says – don’t get hitched b4 age 25!).

I’ll marry the woman who is intelligent, beautiful and will put up with me and aeroplanes.

That ain’t gonna happen in a hurry, and the current SWMBO only fulfills the first 2 counts :D.

    Congratulations anyhow!!

Lotus were doing this 15 years ago! Noise attenuation is only effective in the cabin – you’d probably need an aeroplane covered in loudspeakers to reduce noise emissions to the environent. Big speakers as well. Sort of a reverse Chav effect!

It’s possible to reduce the perceived interior noise but not exterior by this method – it’s down to good old resonators and silencers 🙂

Surely if the big boys want to get rid of this “burden”, then they should share the same tax regulations as GA.

    Fair is fair after all.

The gondola on AF is some form of Radar test bed – unfortunatly the modifications are so substantial they can’t be undone.

Dakota2 – I think the red thing on the wing (well the only thing I can see!) is the aileron control lock.

Ok as promised, some shots of PY taken today. Despite appearances, the next four weeks will see some dramatic reassembly happening and hopefully some ground runs as well.

Nice to see some pics of PY – Been getting intimate with her again today! I think we’re on the final stretch now… I would have added some pics but forgot my camera today. Again. She’s indoors at last and the wings should go on very soon.

I’ll take some tomorrow, and add them to this thread..

Gave up yesterday – went to a hypnotist. Weird experience and didn’t think it would work, but over 24 hours cig free now, from 20 a day.

How cool is that! Still got some nicotine lozenges for if it gets too bad but not even needed them. Not been tested down the pub yet mind

To quote Basil Fawlty: “I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it” 😀

I did offer and it would be churlish to withdraw. Members only sub forum or seperate forum with separate Hysteric, Modern Militant and Air Zimbabwe used vomit bag sub forums (maybe a flight simulant one as well if the geeks moan too much).

    It’ll never happen :diablo:

You do not earn huge amounts getting your programmes onto DW!

But I bet the repeat fees make up for it!! 😀

I’m always disappointed with the quality of Discovery Wings material – there are gems there but there’s too much low quality stuff and far too many repeats.

Ok so I totally forgot to send the stamps.. If Snapper would like to make himself known to me at one of the forthcoming airshows that (hopefully) I’ll be attending and demand a quid I shall be more than happy to cough up!
