Don’t worry about it Chris, I thought the thread relevent. At least it wasn’t offering cheap viagra like half my emails seem to these days.

Please note, I’ve edited this because the original draft would REALLY have offended some people…

The door was left unlocked unfortunately (in error as it’s normally locked) and I take the blame for that. Crime has gone up in the area recently (like from zero), and there are some prime suspects living opposite. I’m tempted to petrol bomb them out of principal actually 🙁

The thing is, if you or I saw a door open I reckon we’d either ignore it or ring the bell and make sure all is ok, not dash in and grab what we can.

I really wouldn’t care if the culprits suffered a very nasty, long, lonely and painful demise.

The original is an icon, the remake is just another film. The only part that upsets me is the Miura getting written off at the start *sob*!

On the subject of Michael Caine, was watching Zulu yesterday. Probably not politically correct anymore but a damned fine film all the same.

Is Michael Caine the forum actor of choice? BoB, Italian Job and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels are three films that appear regualrly. My personal M. Caine favourites are the Harry Palmer films.

I consider North Weald to be historically important – it was after all a Battle of Britain Airfield. I’m sure others can add more to it’s history.

Heres acouple more of the Bengals (or Bungals as they are becoming known here).

First is Tilly and Misty (not looking at their best due to catching a couple of kitten ailments), and second is Dollie our adult Bengal.

Apparently these are going to be classed as dangerous animals!! They’re cats FFS…

Luckily I never keep my house key on the car key ring, and I’ve only got one set of car keys -when I bought the car, the drivers door lock had been attacked so I got a spare lock set with the intention of changing the lot and never got spare keys cut.

So I’m still struggling with changing the fuel cap and ign lock without the original key..

I’d love to find out who they are… We know some people that would “council” them with extreme prejudice!

Ta Fellas. My other half says we (as in the great voting public) are very good at saying what should be done but not so good at doing it.

I’ve often pondered on how to change this.. How does one get a “Chav lynching” law tabled before Parliament? Every little turd that is convicted would then be birched and sent for 6 months boot camp with (very) hard labour.

I think I’ve another goal for 2005 – meet Melv and the Rearwin. Also, I dunno how you get over to Hanger 7 at Cov if you arrived by air but I’ll be happy to meet anyone and bore them with C47 engineering trivia if they wish to make themselves known 🙂 It’s not that scary there….

Ta Galdri! I tried copying it from the PDF earlier but lost interest.

I actually said “sometimes the most minor things” and I meant things like a spark plug being left out or loose and being discovered when the engine is being run up. I’m not trying to run anyone down (and I apologise if that’s how it came across) I’m just curious on how the process works, and at what point it becomes official.

Also, I get really irritated at the “women don’t know engineering” attitude that some blokes have – and when it’s a safety issue that is ignored for whatever reason that’s not something that I take lightly! 🙂 Maybe I’m lucky that I have worked with (and still do so) some very talented female engineers and sometimes forget that the old ways are still prevelent in the outside world.

Anyhow, I didn’t mean to step on any toes so sorry again!

That link suggests to me that it should be reported and investigated.

So this leads to another of my numpty questions. “That Worst Day” has just happened, and one is standing by a few thousand quids worth of repairs, luckily unhhurt. What is the AAIB experience like? Are there insurance implications? I know that it’s probably embarrasing at best and the mickey is probably taken in the event of no harm, but surely the aim is to inform other aviators and support organisations of a problem in the hope that others may benefit, rather than impose sanctions.

I’m pretty sure that Janie’s maintenance people wouldn’t appreciate a call from the men of the ministry..

I’ll class Tom Petty (superb), The Beatles (still brilliant) et al as rock actually whereas the list that started this thread was really Heavy Metal/Rock, although it said rock.

I’m getting picky now, so I’d better shut up!

and I would have Never Say Die, War Pigs, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Black Sabbath and many others over Paranoid 🙂

As for Smoke on the Water for Purple – What about Child in Time, Speed King, Hush, Fireball – all far better IMNSHO 🙂

The original list seems to be “The first ten tunes I murdered on the Guitar”. At least they were the first tunes I destroyed 😀 About the only other one I killed was Silver Machine by Hawkwind.

Having said all that, Highway to Hell is still a cracker for AC/DC (and Bon Scott will forever be the voice of AC/DC!).
