Well having attended today the weather held off which was a relief to everyone. Low cloud and wind prevented visiting aircraft, the airfield opened about midday with the arrival of an Auster and other aircraft then followed, There were about a dozen stalls selling something or other aviation related from instruments, models, clothing, books, memorabilia etc. Must say that the quality of stuff for sale was not as good as previous years, and similar to the golden years of aviation the golden years of the aerojumble just ain’t coming back! Still it was worth going just to browse around and meet like minded people. Probably my first year or even event of coming back empty handed. Thanks to all the stall holders who made the effort of turning up. Still a worthy event to turn up too if only to browse and chat and I’ll be there next year (hopefully!)
From memory gates open for early bird tickets at around 8am. The mainstream entry is either 9am or 10am. I know of one aerojumbler who will be having a stall there for tomorrow so I guess other stall holders will turn up just for the Monday to add to the 20 stalls already there.
I’ll give his event a go tomorrow, weather forecast not too bad till 2pm then 50% chance rain. Fingers crossed for a good aerojumble event !
Thanks for the information on the prop.
Err… the name of the game here, FLY.BUY, is to get as much money as possible for the items. If they end up in a good home it will be entirely fortuitous.
Can someone enlighten me; what is the definition of a good home anyway?
Anon.
Surely you know what it means.
Anyone know what the propeller may be from ?
Great heads up!!! Any open days to inspect the goods ?
A Japanese Ki.49’Helen yoke with column top in relic condition with history sold on Ebay (US) about two weeks ago, price was about £700. Over the past 3-4 years I have noted a few Junkers 52 yokes for sale, one at Shoreham aerobillia £800. One on EBay US for a similar £800 price and one on EBay Germany for around £1100. However the spokes alone I doubt would fetch anywhere near such prices, perhaps a relic value of £30-£50? The Sunderland wheel well there was one on EBay UK last summer went for around £700 in much better condition (coating) than your example. The Ventura I estimate around the £200-£250 mark. All prices are obviously subjective depending on the market at any given time and no price is ever set in stone. Provenance always adds some value to any item so be sure to market this fact if and when selling items. Good luck !
Another sad loss to trolls, many have left before him and no doubt more will continue to do so over the forthcoming years. What can be done? Or is this the price we we have to tolerate for allowing freedom of speech. A fine balance to strike for the moderators save for bullying which has no place on this forum or in our society.
Gosh the prices of sticks just goes up and up, £18,000 for this one ! Ebay item 201376404799. Makes me wonder what is the most expensive grip or yoke anyone has come across ????
Any idea when this is this year ?
Great stuff, ever considered an aerojumble at the site to kick it off? I remember Pete did a bit of this some 12 years back on some of the open days along with the Shackleton engine runs.
Any big prop meets in Europe for 2016??? With the cancellation of so many air shows in the UK this year I will be looking further a field (Europe) for my air show fixes.
Another air show bites the dust and many more to come. Is someone going to start a thread on all the air shows cancelled this year so we can ‘tot’ them up. Only the big boys will be left!
You should sell them, that’s what you should do !!
