Thankyou Anon and Powerand passion for your identification. The item is not mine but they were offered to me some time back and I was curious as to what it was from. Thanks again chaps. RW
Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth folks, with all the Vulcan hysteria at the moment now might be the right time to sell in order to make money to further your projects!
Just some info which won’t answer your intended questions. The bubble in the liquid means that it does not have its original alcohol liquid and has been refilled in the past. The horizontal crosses on the dial are normally painted with radioactive paint. Harmless to a certain extent providing the glass is not removed. Hopefully someone else will give you further information.
Yeah but it does have ‘Vulcan’ in the title
What little do you know about the accident to help jog memories?
Lancaster engine cowling : Ebay number 301776601698
The Hastings is certainly a nice yoke, the seller refers to a similar yoke on the Net for £1600, wasn’t this a Halifax yoke with a column. I seem to remember that it (the Halifax yoke) had been discussed here previously as a bit of a scam? I seem to remember it was advertised in Holland or something??
Grass roots Swap Meet gathering. Forget the paper work, sellers checks, radiation checks, pre bookings, timings of car movements, insurance etc etc. Back to basics every one turns up at a farmers field on a set date and time and start swapping and selling from the boot of the car without all the accompanying restrictions. Someone told me this is done in Australia, can anyone verify this?
Interesting stick grip on eBay number 272020864388 . What is it, anyone know ?
No not Spitfire, it’s from a Lancaster, from looking at the photo I can even say it was from 617 Squadron. Should go for quite a bit on eBay!

If not taken too seriously then it’s not a bad programme. Just goes to show how much hardware is still out there from stuff being found in French farm barnes through to the Finnish forests.
There is also a similar one on the spitfire spares site. Never seen these before until mentioned here.
Thank you GYD for clarification.
