Thomson call centre agent “flight says 757, 32 rows” i said well a 757 doesn’t have 32 rows it’s around 40. I can’t speak to them they don’t know nothing.
I thought you had your answer through Thmonson Boeing 757 is what they told you?
Great read, thanks for posting it
An item is only worth what a person is willing to buy it for. If someone eventually buys the Jag stick top for that price then good luck to the bloke who sold it. That’s the anture of the beast on ebay, irrespective of the price he acquired it for, he’s not ripping anyone off, he’s being open with the price “Take it or leave it”
If you were selling a car or a house on the open market and were offered twice or three times the market price who on this forum wouldn’t sell?
BA have a number of A320, 777 and 747 based out of LHR this summer
Virgin also has 747 and 340’s out of LHR for the summer package holidays
Aer Lingus A321’s will be based at LGW this summer and winter
Ryan Air has 12 737-800 series out of Stansted this summer
Easy jet a number of A319 and A320 out of LGW this summer
Hope this helps
Your calculation is relavant to one instrument, nore do you take account of the different properties of the various grades of glass available.
I am not suggesting you are making stuff up just that generalisation does not help anyone.
In what way is using shielding dubious?
I am not trying this as a DIY solution i am talking to a specialist company who in turn are taking advice on which material will offer protectoin. As I have repeated several times its my personal solution and am simply reporting it for interest.
I dont consider a single experiment or that sheilding is dubious a relavant or helpful statement.
hello, Any advice from the specialist company as of yet?
Wonder how the bookings are getting on at this moment in time for this great gathering?
How many dollars $$$ did it sell for? anyone know?
There is also a good company called Spitfire spares who also sell good quality panels
Nice to see that your company is acquiring a stall at the Aerojumble, Graham. It will add a bit of pedigree to the event. Hopefully you are bringing along a good selection of stuff, there are some nice items on your web site which I am tempted to buy.
Merlin Pete, I don’t remember posting the above quotation you used?
If a Pan Am 707 landed safely on Northolts’ 5,500 ft runway, I’m sure Lyneham (7,800 extended for the Comet), St Mawgan, Greenham, & Boscombe at just under or just over useable 10,000ft would have been manageble.;)
I think that PAA 707 just squeezed onto the Northolt Runway, they had to gut the aircraft of all seats and furnishings to get it back out again.
Although expensive if it’s the only one or a number of very “few” in existance it can and no doubt will command a good price on the market.
An original “Real McCoy” panel always beats any replica in my books. Generally speaking the panels are normally rarer than the instruments, if the panel is sold the rest should hopefully be plain choppy sailing bar one or two instruments, nice project for a dedicated WWII bomber or Sterling enthusiast.
The control wheel he has for sale doesn’t appear to be a Lockheed Hudson, not exactly the same as the one in the photo (the looks to be an early post war type with provisions for switches).
Hope the panel goes to a good home.
I agree.
I never liked that scheme & still don’t, but the speedbird should be brought back IMO, it’s their callsign after all.
It’s part of the airlines BOAC heritage too!
I will give some thought to that, and I understand and sympathise where you are coming from. However, the brutal facts are that to make this work I must fill the marquee with fee-paying stallholders. Otherwise it fails. I’m afraid that a much-reduced fee for car booters will simply mean that traders who might otherwise go inside will (understandably) go outside instead. The overheads for something like this are huge – marquee, ground rent, toilets, staff, advertising, insurance, waste disposal etc etc etc…..!!! It all has to be covered I’m afraid.
I’m not sure of a way around it, but will be open to ideas.
I see your point of view and wouldn’t want to hinder the aerojumble starting again, so ignore that last request. Would you consider starting that aeromart magazine again?
Nice one, Like a Pheonix, rises out of the ashes again. I don’t have enough stuff to sell for a stall, ever thought of catering for the normal folk by having some pitches for people who want to sell/swap stuff from their car boot?
