If its value is nil, why is it on e-bay and not donated to IWM?
Why does everything have to go to museums all the time? If you live in an old house and are about to sell it do you consider donating it to the National Trust?
Most aviation museums are already overflowing with stuff and politely refuse offers, I know this from personal experience after trying to give away shed (tons) loads of genuine display stuff. Some (obviously unreputable) museums even sell the stuff on or even hack and cannabalise stuff. Private collectors cherish and are often the guardians of a lot of good stuff ensuring items are preserved in years to come. Okay you may not get around to see it, but no one can complain really until they’ve visited all the museums in the Uk and run out of things to see. I love private collections long may they live on!!!!:diablo:
Great shots, I love the TU-134 Glazed noses, any scrap yards out there?
I am impressed that you have flown THY and lived to tell the tale!
You obviously have very low standards!
Avgas, I can asure you that I have high standards,
I take it that you obviously base your sure fire comments and experiences on having flown on the airline do you?
Never fly THY.
Turkish Airlines is a notoriously crappy airline, crashing frequently, having bad reputation when it comes to pilot education (crew resource management is a catastrophe, English proficiency poor, airmanship not the best either).
If there is one airline that really shouldn’t grow, it is THY.
I would be interested to know what this comment is based on? I assume that you are a training captain of some sort? Which routes do you fly on THY?
I frequently fly THY and have done so for 30 odd years, I’m not a pilot but just a passenger and haven’t had any problems with this airline.
It’s good to have a debate about these things is it not??…………..
Is this the same one (with pictures) or a different BF109 find in India? See link http://www.warbirdsofindia.com/WDY/wbdy2002.html
Looking forward to the VC-10 display, hope the aircraft lands and takes off from Biggin?
Is the 5.5 degree steep approach to London City for both ends of the runway or just for the approach over the city?
I don’t think the other side of the runway coming over the estuary is so built up, or is it ? therefore requiring the steep approach from that end too?
Seems to be a broken link…
Thankyou!
WoW! this footage is absolutely awesome, are the CAA aware of this? or perhaps National Geographia can make a good programme of this near miss? Absolutely unbelivable, nail biting stuff!
Nice one, fly’s the flag for the country’s flag carrier, a bit like BA does.
I’mnot too sure what was so awsome about this?
Thanks for the information folks, gives me a better idea of their capability. On google earth I looked at a few of the military airfields in North Korea, they seen littered with aircraft parked along the tarmac and dispersal pans, either decoys or indeed they do have large numbers of aircraft with no where to put them.
I have a De Havilland Comet airliner control wheel, does anyone know if the Comet 1 and 2 had the same wheels as the redesigned Comet 4?
Did the control wheels stay the same through the different Comet models?
