I don’t know, arguments over pistons and Jets will be with us for the rest of time, what has got to be remembered is all love one thing……….AIRCRAFT, so stop the bickering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good shots Plazz, nice to see the Jet side of Duxford’s collection.
Let me know how the installation of the Crew Amp and Junction box goes at Brunty tomorrow and if you see Nick Colledge (Iskra volunteer), just let him know that I have not forgotten about the tour of Kemble that I promised him.
Whats with the JP looks a bit rough?
Peter, the Rough looking JP is undergoing restoration by it’s new owner, this JP has only recently been back on public display having been hidden from view since moving from Kemble a couple of years ago.
Arm Waver, the damp patches under the Bucc’s wings are normally due to water being expelled from the BLC ducts once the engines are up and running or due to vibration of the airframe. It is not unusual to see Bucc’s that have stood dormant for some time, leak water everywhere once the are on the move, i.e: being tugged to a new position.
Stevieb, cracking shots as always sir, shame you did not get one of our beastie 894! or did you?
Happy Birthday Mike, hope you have had a good day.
Thanks guys, gonna have a few beers in a mo but sadly Plazz will not be there to buy them for me 😀
Thanks all.
Well here’s one person and I imagine their will be plenty of others who will raise a glass to all those persons responsible for returning 558 to the air when she finally lifts from Brunty’s runway.
Great shots, regardless of the quality. Can you imagine this sort of flyby at an Airshow 😀
If someone can identify this aircraft, I would be pleased.
Thks in advance
It appears to be XW528 which was deemed unrepairable after cracks were found in the front spars in 1980 and was withdrawn from use.
Here’s a few shots of the Bournemouth Bucc, taken by my good friend and copyright Colin Perriss in May 2003.
I spoke to Andy Bonsell a couple of weeks back and in amongst the conversation this very question was brought up, Andy’s response was that the LPG are trying but so far nothing has been confirmed either way, so their maybe some hope, best just wait and see.
The respray on one example wasn’t quite completed before it departed to the US and spent the tour flying in a peculiar half desert, half european camo scheme!
This aircraft was XX900 which is now residing at Bruntingthorpe, I got some b/w photos of the desert scheme used in RF, will try and find some colour ones.
I will post some more pics later.

Aarrgh!!!!!!!!!!
I can confirm that this machine is former Bruntingthorpe resident WV795, she was on her way to the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust Museum as you say.
I looked out the window today and thought the same so I wandered over to the EMA Aeropark. My offering’s attached: –
MrB.175, looking at your photo of the Vulcan, I cannot help but notice that work seems to be ongoing with Buccaneer XV350, do you have any photos of her?
Buccsociety,
Did you ever make any progress with your requests for info for this aircraft? It’d look good jetting down Brunty’s runway!
J man
Sorry J Man, I never did progress with any enquiries, changes in policy and in available funding, pretty much curtailed our interest.
I would dearly love to see a Lansen back in the air, I have not seen one for quite sometime, wonder if the Swedes could be pursaded into allowing their flyer to display at an event over here??
Heres an idea…..
…why don’t we all chip in to buy her ?
Just think, the forumites actually helping to save an aircraft ?
Thoughts please…..
(Thinx: Whos got a big garden ?) 😮
I know where we can get our hands on a better one if anyones interested. PM me if you would be interested in a possible ground running T-Bird.
