Supposing North Korea sells it’s Nuke knowhow to a Terrorist organisation, we could be in a bit of a pickle, or any other country for that matter. Time is not on our side, a small Nuclear device could create havoc, even proving who supplied and built it could be a problem. From today, we are no longer living in a safe world, unlike the cold war, this is a very dangerous game of chess.

why would they have to go to Nth Korea? loads of discounted former soviet warheads available!

anyway If the terrorists want to go ” Nuclear ” they could make their own without too much difficulty.

ok here is a question for you all would you

A, have 1 enemy a thousand miles away?

    or

B, have a thousand enemies 1 mile away?

Wouldnt it be better NOT to be travelling the world making even more enemies?

    And here’s a question back:

    Which would you prefer

    a. one enemy 1000 miles away who has been turned into an implacable enemy by your governments foreign policy….

    b. One thousand ” enemies ” (?) one mile away who you can at least try to reconcile ?

The Good ….the extensive knowledge available , the friendliness of some ..

the Bad ……the way some people treat those who may not be as
knowledgeable OR who ask ” foolish ” questions. The way
some people have absolutely no sense of humour!

    The ugly……grudges ,snobbery.

Tell aviation archaeologists that there is a buried bunker in your garden. Tell them that it is stuffed full of Hurricane and Spitfire parts. You wont then have to worry about landscaping your new Garden 😉
Seriously, I Have seen a book that has something similar that you describe in it. I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called though. The local council may be able to offer an answer in their records. You could even try local history associations or groups.

    no…much better idea!!!

Tell them a certain D Bader’s spitfire crashed there and not in France…

Treble whammy….Garden gets extensive dig over.
    ….NEW Ch4 programme on search .
    ….NEW tread on forum!

Seriously though i have to say that as a relative newbee this forum constantly surprises me with the knowledge available from members..
Many thanks all..( or most of you ) 😀

now who knows where Nessie is ?

To wage a war on two fronts, I would have thought is rather expensive. Not forgetting other parts of the world, where we also have troops stationed. If only this money was spent on things, that would make Britain a better country to live in. It would be far better to put troops back in this country, to deal with any future terrorist threat here.
    ______________________________________________

not just expensive but foolish….The Uk doesnt have the manpower or the equipment to sustain such engagements.

Hasnt the UK given up the idea of being an empire? Does Tony the poodle realise that GW, and for that matter most American administrations, have short memories ?

“Special relationship ” ? ….crap! just PR rubbish!

Having a good and sound energy policy ( which my country doesn’t have ) makes sense.

    Recyle of products makes sense.

Environmental policy that is sound, makes sense.

None of this is going to alter the earths climate cycles.

    First three points …spot on!!

Final point….Think we are talking about a bit more than natural climate cycles!!

Predictions are that we are in for increased temperatures leading to major and cataclysmic Wx and sea level changes in the next 35/40 years if we do not address the poisons we are pumping out now!
