    Do says about professionalism
of those AFs. Afterall what more one
    can expect from tinpot dictators.

    😮 Huh 😮 …

Fair and square: Shouldn’t this remark too have been taken care of
as well? I mean clearly, if this means what I think it means, then this is way more
toxic than the beneign comment, “complexion differences,” made by another forumite in this or was it
in another thread? Or, is people simply going to pay a blind eye here?

And, will we be witnessing bias at its finest
and being played out here? Or will we see justice doing
its job :p ??? Any takers here? Bets people?

    I’m going for the bias…

I mean initially, this was such a beneign thread.
But ultimately I guess, dirt will get tracked in here by the traffic.
I mean dirt — it’s such a predictable thing here???

And if you are one of the milliions who have been sold from top to bottom by the Chicoms that Taiwan will be allowed to remain a “renegade province” indefinitely, well, then you have our sympathy.

Wow! And ouch ouch!!! ChiCom :p ???

You are old :p !!! Very old in fact :p !!! Matter of factly, I’d say
“Jerassic” is more the appropriate word to use in your case. I mean when will :p people :p
get out of their obsessions and live in the real world again :p ???

I think the word Chi-Caps is now more the word to use.
Go try it (visit China)! You may in fact like it there. After all,
many of your compatriotes does (99.9999% passengers of river cruise) when I was
with them on the Yangtze enroute to the Three Gorge!!!

Stalin is long dead and gone. So is Brezhnev, Mao, and likes.
China is now run by China Eastern, by Yahoo!, by Google, by General
    Motor China
, by Volkswagon, by Alfred Sung, by Wal-Mart, by Estee Lauder, and
much more so please get off of a that ChiCom high horse and…

    Be REAL!!!

Err, sorry I’m not exactly sure what you’re saying? That because Taiwan was once formally part of China it must be again? The whole of Ireland used to be part of the UK – politicians even had the same rhetoric as Chinese ones do now (Ireland is Britain, etc). But now we couldn’t care less – we welcome the Republic of Ireland’s independence.

And, technically, it wouldn’t be reunification – but unification, as badger said. Taiwan has never been a part of the PRC.

There is no such thing as technicalities in this respect. You are either
a Chinese person or you are not. Or alternatively, you are either a Japanese person or
you are not a Japanese person. It’s determined by bloodline. And the majority of the population
of Taiwan??? I suspect they write & speaks Chinese – not Nihonguojin.

Also, who says Taiwan wasn’t a part of Chinese history? Is it
just by your words alone? Or is it from what you’ve gather from western literatures?
Regardless, ambiguously, I suspect Taiwan is included here:

If you want to comment on China’s Anti-Session Law, at least read it.

Let’s be more open and let’s
be more direct about all of this and I’ll
be the first to do the honors:

My readings: The proposed, or the prospective carriers, and such; the missiles
barrages along the coast of Fujian; the modern sumarines; the Naval JH-7’s, etc., etc.
was designed to defend the country from :p the mighty Battlestar Galactica :p in the event
it’s motherboard goes heywired and motherboards do go heywired at times

“It was not meant for the Island because the Island on it’s own
is but a piece of cake and the world knows that — with the exception of course —
of those who find that they just can’t have things their ways…”

However, and of course — the Captain of the mighty Galactica is not going
to say out loud that the Chinese are preparing themselves for a potential attack from
the mighty Galatica… I mean to suggest that would be an insult to the mighty Galactica. Hence,
words such as “regional threat” was carefully inserted into the text instead.

Bear in mind however, the chance probability of the mighty Galactica
going at it with Zhanghe is minute to almost none existent because like it is with
the Soviets, something that horrendous is simply out of the question.

I envision the two societies (land of the Galactica and Beijing) more
as partners in business in the future than as rivals as time goes on, and,
as captitalism gets its true foothold in the world of the Chinese. By then, economics –
not politics – is the thing that’s going run both capitalistic machines.

So, much time has past when Taiwan was part of China proper

Time in itself doesn not “a right” make. Culture however does. And,
the culture of this Island, should we say is unquestionably, irrevocably, and inseparably part
of a world which we can say is illuminated under the Chinese sun.

Therefore, if anyone needs to stop this, it is the person who had initiated,
insinuated, even suggested the notion that the Chinese are building carriers with
an intent to take on the Island which IMHO is very very misleading.

I mean if the Chinese needs to create trouble for the Island, there’s
no need for them to use such direct applications of force. If they need to
send a message to the Island, they can practically turn the Island upside down and
do it from the inside out no problem just like they did HK in the 60’s.

China’s present builtup (providing that it indeed is a builtup as suggested
and not just merely a modernization process to keep up with the times) is
IMO purely of a defense nature and, to a great extent, something driven by the prestige side
    of it
that moderization can offer (image) for a country as major as China.

So why try to distort or make up things when there’s no cause for it?

    Regarding AVIC:

Actually, briefings that comes out of AVIC is briefings that is
equivalent to that of announcements that comes straight out of the
mouth of NASA or that of NASA’s equivalence in the US Aviation industry. In fact, AVIC
can be said “the promotional (ad.) agency”, and to some extent “the
marketing (Sales) agency” for all of China’s aviation industry.

Here are some references as to the importance AVIC plays in the sucessfull
marketing, promotion, generation of interest, sales, and/or in all wheelin’ deelin’ aspects
associated with goods and services offered by China’s aviation industy.

    http://www.china.org.cn/english/scitech/159075.htm
    http://www.china.org.cn/english/scitech/158589.htm

I hope this offers some clues as to the nature of AVIC, and I
hope this will clarify the possibile misconceptions people may have about
AVIC. My personal understanding: AVIC is similar to NORINCO.

He did mention it, its a government sourced media. Knowing PRC government talk, they won’t specify the engine directly by name though.

It says the most powerfull powerplant
now in “China’s inventory” and by that I suspect
it includes imports such as the AL-31.

That isn’t quite true. I was listening to a radio broadcast of an American writer a little while back who said that as much as a third of the population wants independence whenever possible, and only about 10% want reunification under any circumstance. This ties in with research from Chengchi University suggesting that very few Taiwanese see themselves as being “Chinese” anymore – mostly “Taiwanese” or “Taiwanese/Chinese”.

It is correct that most Taiwanese want to maintain the status quo, but a lot of that has to do with China. If they actually had a free choice in the matter then they’d probably vote for independence.

Anyway I think we’re wandering OFF-TOPIC here. Let’s get back to discussing those lovely aircraft carriers! 😮

Addressed to Halo but I think I’ll jump in as well:
Why do you suppose they call it “REUNIFICATION”? Answer:
Because that’s exactly what it is — reunification.

For examples: Wouldn’t you be longing for
the reunification of the Northern Island of Japan now occupied
by Russia – if you are a Japanese person???

My thoughts as to whether this belong or does not belong:

Although this thread seems somewhat off topic, we can’t deny however
that this thread has to do with mysteries related to Area 51, hence Nellis AFB, Groom Lake, NV,
hence has to do with modern military avaiation of the mysterious kind…

I contend this subject is OK as is. After all, it isn’t hurting anyone.

That makes me reconsider whether the life is really only possible with presence of oxygen and within the narrow temperature range of -30C to +50C as we know it. There is definitely a proof of Earth’s anaerobic life forms, as well of bacteria that are able to sustain temperatures exceeding +100C on long term. But whether any lifeform could go the opposite direction and live under -150 or -180C… Who knows?

Now days, they are surprised at the findings as to how even in highly
toxic sulfuric acid contaminated environments (known as black chimmies I believe) in
the darkest and deepest parts of the ocean that it is teaming with life.

I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that one of these days
that we may, as science fiction has postulated, find life forms that survives,
even thrives in, an environment jam pack with radiation.

Silly stuff. But, OK if just for the funs of it I guess…

Area 51, as it seems, is very very contagous…

Could make for stealthy inteligence gathering apparatus I guess if laced with anti-radar substrates…

IMHO maybe more comparable are West- and East Germany, Noth- and South Korea, North- and South Yemen.

The Germans, Koreans, and the Yemenese have no qualms about
the legitimacies of the Chinese on this one. America, the UK, Japan, even India,
however seems to enjoy the excitments of the pouring of gasoline into this seemingly uneasy
and explosive family fued which they have no business in meddling.

Hence, the Punjab, Ireland, Hisbanic America, and “Russian Japan” as comparison and
as reference to help round off the sharp edges. I mean if one must throw a punch, one must throw it
where it hurts, otherwise, people will never get a taste of their own snake oil medicines.

I hope this answers your questions and I hope this helps.

I would say it’s a J-10 from the angle of the cockpit. The FC-1 is more horizontal and won’t angle like that. With all the taping in the canopy glass, it’s also a brand new plane, just freshly minted in the factory, showing indeed that the J-10 production line is busy.

All publications in the net (Asia) reffered to it as the J-10.
Plain and simple: There’s no need for the Chinese to mislead the public
on that one. Why should they? It’s their pride and joy?
