Don’t know how accurate that pic is. It has been floating around the NET for sometime now….but the DF-31 had to be small. It had a size restriction. The reason for that is it had to be carried on 094 SSBN as the JL-2.

Range is 3000-8000 km so it can only reach some parts of the Western USA (But carried on the 094 would give it allot more reach). The DF-31A and DF-41 (don’t know its status, maybe cancelled) does not have that size restriction. Those would be 10,000+ km ICBMs.

Comparison to Minutemans: I must admit and…

admit without any reservations: The claimed JL-II
(Link above) seems less sophisticated. But then again, beauty,
as they say, is but only in eyes of the beholder!!!

    Agree???

There is still a possiblity of PLAAF
inducting a squardon or two of FC1s depending
on their evaluation of this plane.

If a two seater variation of the FC-1 is indeed at the works and the plane
mannipulated into an inexpensive (relatively similar cost as J-7’s) and that it lives up to
the fighting machine it’s claimed to be, then I wouldn’t rule it out altogether.

Logically, with the release of a few Exocets
by these sea skimming FB attackers, Kim’s many swift boats, too,
will go down like lead sinkers of a fishing line.

Damn… It is said that the french are trying desperately to get
the EU to lift the embargo and when they do succeed in this endeavor, these 60’s
era exocet techs :p will finally be transferable to the ChiComs!!!

Kim! Watch your hinnies because you indeed are next :p !

    (1) Actually, the quality of British Made Cars is world class. Britian has lost most of her manufacturing to take-over by Americans (FORD) and Germany:
Any place from where the follwoing come/have come in the past certainly can not be questioned regarding their ‘quality’

Triumph, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Bently, Landrover, Aston Martin, Austin Healey.

    I mean, come on.

    (2) Although any analogies drawn up with the Kursk incident are not totally correct as their is no nuclear dimension involved, one does tend to notice how differently the world media has reacted to the two events.

Please see how the same media outlet treats the stories:

    (A) Kursk

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/1323196.stm

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/887978.stm

    (B) HMCS Chicoutimi

Sensible and reasonable covergae from the same outlet, no Gloom / ‘The End is Near’ type of Analysis.

    Don’t forget the Mini Cooper…
It’s selling like these British subs now days in Canada.

    However, what I really meant
is that it’s becoming too obvious that they are
    going to charge Taiwan soon…

    :p … You’d like to see that, wouldn’t you, Severodvinsk? :p

But, don’t kid yourself however! Because, even the blind can see that
the objects of the new Chinese toys are as a deterent against massive naval armada’s
anchored 200 to 400 miles off shore somewhere in the western Pacific.

Examples of such naval armada’s: Kim Jong Il’s massive inventory of nuclear-
tipped and Nodong-armed swift boats and North Vietnam’s hords upon hords of specially
trained one-of-the-kind and stealthy navy seals with killer instincts ๐Ÿ˜€ ๐Ÿ˜€ ???

And, the Island of Taiwan??? Willing pawns in a very very
dangerous game of chest being played out in Asia. And the Chinese, IMHO, have no choice
in the matter but accept the realities of being forced into it.

Once again, my two cents only of course.

If it looks like an F-22, it probally wishes it were a F-22 :p :dev2:

    Trolls :p :

Have you watched the Hollywood fantasy the 5th Kingdome???
Now, can you picture the Trolls and what they resemble??? Yes! Indeed… slimmy sea
faring pirates with foul mouths they are and very very Trollish :p .

Anyway, on the “If it looks like an F-22, it probally wishes it were a
    F-22 :p “
remark: Just keep in mind: Don’t cry foul when one or two of them, one of these days,
decends on Bombay International on a friendship call between two giants ๐Ÿ™‚ .

By then, you can once again
remind the Chinese that “If it looks like an F-22, it probally wishes
    it were a F-22 :p “

Jeez, cant they be a little more creative than using a F-22 template ALL the time?

    :p Creativity: :p

Sometimes, a salamander is a salamander is a salamander no matter
how one tries to mannipulate and/or how one tries to cross pollinate the species.
If otherwise, it will not legally be categorized as a salamander no more :p.

Therefore, 5th generation stealth fighters will always sport certain
shapes and characteristics that are generic to the original ideas or gists of stealth fighters
no matter how one tries to scrutinize the idea or the concepts of it.

Some examples: MiG introduced their version of the FB-111 variable
geometric swept wing fighter with their look-alikes, i.e., their MiG-23/27. And, no bulls about it, the
world deem/recognizes it as indiginously, and proudly, USSR/Russian.

Same goes for the Su-27/30/MiG-29 — it follows on the genetics of the then
futuristic F-14 and F-15’s. But still, it’s viewed and accepted internationally as distinctly Russian,
even though Su-27’s/30’s and F-14’s and 15’s shares similar generic trades.

Given this, should Chinese concepts then be given a different set of standards :p :p ???

    Biases, biases, biases :p :p :p !!!!

    :p
