all i can say lets hope its somewhat like that 😛
😀
My position: Not a crime until proven guilty :D!
Example: Where is the proof, either way it goes? Why discourage a newbie
with such harshness when there’s no need for???
:p
Re: FC-1/F-18 cockpit:
No disrespect but I’m an open minded person and, while there’s no hard or
conclusive evidence either way on the above, I think I’ll keep this one on file and, in due
course, pull it to see what each of our reactions was about this cockpit deal.
Looks here as if it’s the Lavi j-10 syndrome all over again!!!
I rest my case.
well, no disprespect, but the people who design that plane will name it whatever they see fit, and dont give a crap about what you or i think of it, so stop whining about it.
😮
Re: stop whining
I am not whining, Wolf. What I am doing, merely, is to try and change
the mental state of mind of the Chinese public such that they may concentrate their
energy and efforts more on the future rather than in their glorious past.
I mean has any of you ever come across a Jacky Chan, Jet Li, or a
Ang Lee production, “regardless if it’s a product from LA or one’s from the far east,”
that deals with anything else others than Kungfu and martial arts???
I mean where is the energy and imagination as those of Steven Spielberg and of Tom Clancy
which IMO had charted and changed the course of American/western frame of mind in science??? Gouching Tigers
and Enter the Dragons are definitely not the themes that’ll do it my opinion. It’s simply jurassic???
What China needs to instill in her people, particularly
in those of her youths is imagination, creativity, and the future, and not in the
day dreams and the yearning of her glorious and mighty past.
I mean assigning a name i.e., Swift Warrior or Sleek Arrow (international themes)
to a machine designed to defend would definitely appeal more to the public than, for example the name
:p “Dragon Ball” :p (Any of you seen that stupid Japanese toon???) my opinion.
My opinion only of course and end of discussion.
😮
Super-7 is already an extremely resourcefull name. It carries
with it a very enterprising theme — one which have an air of commercialization
to it which is ideal for the international defensive needs market.
And Thunder??? Well… it’s OK. But, I’d prefer
it more if it’s compunded. I.e., Thunderchief, Thunderbolt, Thunderstreak,
Thunderstrike, whatever. My opinion only of course.
Too bad the original J-10 image is probably something we may not have seen before.
Too bad the original J-10 …
Actually, that j-10 is very very popular on the net. And
that crane??? If I recall correctly, it’s a pic showing an F-18 being hoisted
aboard an American aircraft carrier. Exact angle exact tilt.
Incidentally, as is seen on CMF, they are also doing it to a J-8. Therefore
my hypothesis is that the Sarah’s of the world is at their tricks again. And, this Sarah?
IMHO, it’s either some Sarah from this Island under the Chinese Sun or, some Sarah from
some this entity known as “Envy” from some thousands of miles due west.
Hey! I told you guys the Chinese are not the one’s doing all these photoshopings
now haven’t I??? Reason why they are not the culprits: They have no need to use fables because
they have the real thing that they can be proud of and to show the world.
:p
I told that Mexicans are traditionally suspicious of their military and do not accord it a very high priority.
Besides, what does Mexico need new fighters for? Going to beat off an invasion by the US?
😉
Well…
They probably need to show those Columbians drug lords who’s been
pilfering from the commnunity pot of gold a piece of their mind — a pot of gold that Mexico likely
have a big stake in. Combat A/Cs might just be the thing that’ll do it.
Esgabar was it???
😀
Come on! Thats one of the worst made Photo Shops
Now, why would the Chinese go on a photoshop spree like
that with their pride, joy, and their top prize winner? Unless of course
someone somewhere hates them enough to wish them ill!!!
The culprits: The Sarah Cyr’s of world at work here, my opinion!!!
😀
to edisonone
I believe the Chinese Govt has been trying to change the peoples mindset , (trying to create a modern scientfic mentality), ever since she came to power 55 years ago
They tried hard at destroying the old feudalistic way of thinking ,eg religions, superstitions, etc
The “Great Politeriat Cultural Revolution” was the most extreme example of this campaign
Imagine the RCAF calling the Hornet the
CF-18 Ogopogo, or the CF-18 Flying Ogopogo, or the CF-18 Fighting
Ogopogo, or the CF-18 Fierce Ogopogo  ???
Hey! I’m not criticizing here. I’m merely trying to take advantage
of the net and hopefully maybe bring a message across the Pacific to the people inside the PRC
so that they may become a wee more creative in name selections!!!
I hope my message does across
the Pacific and make it’s way into the headquarters
of the Chengdu Design Beareau.
😡
Yeah, Chinese aircraft up your stinking ass, Mister.
Huh 😮 !!!!
And what seems to be “Up Yours”?! Weird peoples —
sometimes…
I would think that “Fighting Falcon” would fit in the Chinese way of naming things.
😎
Falcon:
I wish that’s how they’ll do it. It would
make their products more internationally appealing than if
they name it dragon this or dragon that.
Remember: We are looking at a
defensive needs market and audience and not a Bruce Lee’s
“Enter the Dragon” fan and audience.
The Upgraded version, or so they say.
Latest, and the newest breed on the JH-7 block.

This is also said to be distictly different from…
http://pic.tiexue.net/origin/2004_6/2004_6_4_94323.jpg
the original seen earlier but I can’t tell the diff.
I clearly doubt they would buy FC-1 and stuff like that. Other stuff may be possible, such as KL-8 trainers or Y-8 transports.
😀
Why would they (Mexico) even bother with combat A/Cs when they
are right next door to the mightiest Air Force in the world — one who’ll go all
out to defend both Canada and Mexico if attacked by Evil Kaneval.
😀
😉
Well… I know you guys probably don’t wanna
see this thread anymore, but a couple of shots here I thought
was pretty cool and wanted to share with ya.

(Zoom in on cockpit. Seems extra elongated to me)

My compliments for the cool job if PSed.
Now, experts needed for the following:

Are these Flankers or what???
Edisonone you saw some unknown guys or gals started to call J-10 “fierce dragon” in china.com and then you automatically assume this term is officially used to name J-10. Jesus that’s how you pickup and spread the rumors. Face this, whatever “dragon” names are used to name aircrafts by the Chinese, these Dragon names will not be used in brochures or conferences aimed at exporting the aircraft just like what the FC-1 has done. “Dragon” is a myth, whim or a fantasy and while the West tends to relate Dragon with bloodlust and fear, the East relates it with shock and awe. Dragons are sth important in the Chinese mentality, just like freedom, democracy and liberation are important to the Americans. Chinese call things “dragons” while the Americans call the wars they waged “freedom+liberation”. So call whatever you want but that doesn’t change what really matters.
The term Dragon:
It’s a term that should remain within the relms of art,
literature, and history. China/Chinese public must get off of her high horse of
living in her past glory of mighty empires and of dragons.
China must start living
in the 21st century and not in 500 BC —
mentally speaking of course.
😮
