    I guess that attitude disappeared when we went in to help rebuild Japan, right? Japan ended up having more modern manufacturing facilities than a good deal of the US.

    when we went in to help rebuild Japan:

    I suspect that a good proportion of the shares/floats
    in the likes of Sony, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, and the likes was bought and
    sold by none other but North American share holders.

    They sure as the heck didn’t built their economy
    on sushi or on Japanese oranges which is popularly consumed
    in the 50s durring the short mistletoe seasons :p .

    There is no free lunch for anyone in this world, OC.

    Nuking anyone was pretty acceptable in
    the 1950s as we didn’t have a full understanding of the effects
    of radiation, or the concept of fallout.

    Maybe yes and maybe no there, OC. In fact, documentaries has it that
    the US specifically had programme in place to record and keep track of the affects of
    radiation and fallouts on the health of speciments in the aftermath of Fat Boy or whatever it’s called.
    They knew all the negatives in the NM tests and they know the affects.

    Why you think this was a racial issue is beyond me.

    There’s nothing wrong with admitting to that which is the truth,
    OC. And the truth is that race indeed was the deciding factor. I’m sure however
    that Pearl Harbour also played a role in the sealing of Japan’s fate.

    Know something else, OC? As much as I dislike Vietnam, I can
    sense it that even the vietnam war where millions had perished senselessly
    also have a race smell to it. If otherwise, that conflict would have been
    over with long before Nixon sneezed and said I’m outta there.

    Again, my 2 cents only.

    I never said it was good for your health nor do I advance the use of nuclear weapons. I only speak of the fact, and the fact remains the amount of radioactive material released from Chernobol is is probably equivalent to many many nuclear detonations.

    And that’s a legitimate reason/argument that nukes and/or all out
    nuclear fueds are good for the heart and soul??? We should all try to influence the total dismanttling
    of the nukes from the world instead of cheering and glorifying it on.

    Quite interesting… sound connection between racist
    attitudes versus mainly African Americans in the post WW2 USA
    and having been less reluctant to employ nuclear weapons against Asian
    countries in time of conflict in the same post WW2 period.

    I’m an independent and I tend to fight my own fights
    and no one else’s. And this is my honest to goodness, and my truthfull
    opinion on the complicated Afro American equation
    :

    Afro Americans, my opinion, are still second class citizens, maybe
    even third class just like the rest of the colors of America. And, if and when
    compared to the Arians of the land, this status quo (classification) will likely remain
    indefinitely though it may look very rosy (victimized) in the surface.

    I mean just look at O. J. Simpson — it is the public, and not the American
    judicial system that threw the book at him. And it likely happened way way before the
    guilty verdict was read and it’s all simply because he was an Afro American.

    It’s all about human nature (racism), and in human nature — we thrive…

    Well if you are so upset about animals,
    you can be a maple leaf. Although i always thought that that animal that
    looks like a dear (caribou???) is very Canadian looking.

    Now, we’re a Cariboo 😮 ???

    Hey! All you Canucks out there! Are ya all just
    going to sit there and take all of this abuse 😮 ? I mean Man!!!
    Another animal that does not have a brain???

    The only reason that Japan was the “Guinea Pig” rather than
    Germany, was that by the time the first A-bomb was ready to be
    tested (July 1945), Germany had already surrendered!!!

    My opinion:

    Ethically speaking, in today’s standards, that’s still unacceptable.

    “A triumphant victor (not refering to our Vic of course), can write or rewrite
    history any which way it wants to. I mean who’s to argue with “The Almighty Rock
    or with Hulk Hogan if they have that scissor lock death trap of a strangle hold on them, or if this Rickishi
    guy have them pinned to his hinny” when be (Rickishi) is clearly the champ?”

    Facts: Even with the atrocities committed on the massive
    scale that the Japanese did
    , on China, Korea, South East Asia, Russia, and
    Australia, it is a well know fact that she is still trying to rewrite her history and that
    she is trying hard to delete the part she feels uncomfortable.

    Last but not least: Don’t take this too seriously, Badge. This’s only
    human nature we’re talkin’…. no more no less. And, my 2 cents and my 2 cents only
    of course — silly stuffs, jibbrish, babbling, and no more than that.

    Politics is politics and I don’t want in in politics. Therefore Peace!!!

    US = Eagle
    Russia = Bear
    China = Dragon
    India = Elephant (Or Water Buffalo?)
    UK = Lion
    Japan = Rising Sun
    Autralia = Tazmanian Devil
    Canada = Moose
    France = Poodle

    I’d think the Jackal would be Egypt.

    What this? And says
    who that that’s how nations of the
    world is represented?

    I mean haven’t you ever watched Lord of the Rings or Harry
    Potter :p ? Man!!! If by your account, does that then imply that
    all the cheerfull and mystical creatures depicted in those and other
    imaginative fables imply that it’s refering to specific entities?

    Seriouly, you’re too sensitive :p !!!!

    And please… Don’t refer to us as Mooses. Man I hate that!
    Moose that is! I always thought we Canucks were better thought of as
    a bright, a cunning, and a highly inteligent and very industrious creature with a sharp
    mouth and razor sharp teeths better known as a Beaver :p…

    But Moose? Why! That’s an insult!!!

    Let’s see where this goes.[/list]

    Where will this lead the world you asked?

    My hypothesis: It will force
    the Dragon to put even greater efforts into becoming a
    still more creative creature.

    For example: If the Dragon didn’t all of a suddent decided
    that it’ll try for a romantic rendevou of sort with the moon Godess,
    I suspect that even the mighty Eagle might not “after all these years” start
    to flirt around with her again either. At least not his early.

    In other words: This is no more but an
    endless cycle and this this cycle just keeps going
    round and round like a merry go around.

    Love merry go rounds don’t you?

    The almighty Nuke:

    Hitler’s Germany, it was said, was actually working on the nuke
    behind the scene and he was rumored/deemed as having actually been
    engaged in the testings of such a device (small scale I suppose).

    They have also been said to be equally as ruthless throughout Europe,
    if not more so than Imperial Japan was in WWII in Anglo Australia, Asia too mind
    you. Too bad for Hitler’s Germany – it didn’t made the guinee pig list.

    Churchill and Eisenhower, or was it Rosevelt,
    must’ve punch :p the wrong SENT BUTTON :p. Hey! I for one always
    contend that blood indeed is thicker than water…

    Therefore: Why Not?

    yeah, but that’s not expected to be certified until after 2015. Until then, you can continue upgrading WS-10 and WS-13. Also, CJ-2000 is for a large engine (ie: WS-10 size). If you get competing designs for J-XX (which might well happen with both CAC and SAC both looking for work after J-10 and J-11), you will most likely get two sized fighters (one mig-29 size, the other su-27 size). In this case, you sort of have to use WS-13’s upgraded version for the mig-29 size one.

    For whatever this is worth: I read a sources which says that they
    are working on a copy of the AL-41 and also on something in the likes of an Su-33
    which in essence is something know as S-35 from the Soviet days.

    A power plant has something like ~100 tons of irradiated uranium oxide while a nuclear warhead is in kgs

    100 tons verses kgs:

    Try telling that to the Hiroshimians and the Nagasakians :p !!!

    Anyway this http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/4758232.stm is but the results of
    only two nukes. Besides what is covered by this report is likely only the tip of the iceburg or
    only a scratching of the surface. There are loads of similar cases throughout the rest of the country.
    last I read, the blame shifted to the excessive Omega 3 :p they have as a staple.

    Prior to that of the sixties, health conditions as the above was limited only to
    the extremes of the unfortunate
    and the natural killers then was TB and and other infectious
    diseases. Now however, the ratio is said to be one of every four (Scary isn’t it?).

    And, do you know what I think the cause of this epidemic is? Try residues
    from atmospheric nuclear testings carried by the earth’s atmosphere and accumalated
    throughout the globe since the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Last I read, these things lasts for thousands
    of years in the environment. Somehow, it must’ve gotten on the food chain.

    It’s fine to thump our chest and advertise that we have the biggest boy on the block
    as a friend and buddy “if in a gesture of goodwill and friendship”. But, when we utter these words
    unwisely, or unnecessarily, “and untimely (which we often thoughtlessly do) it makes us look tiny and
    it makes us look incompetent (General viewpoint only. Not refering to anyone specific)
