Many thanks for the reply.
I’ve now added a photo of the said item to see if that helps.
Johnnie
I’ve just looked at the listing again and it seems to be print outs from the micro film copy of the ORB.
Johnnie
It looks like an old photocopy rather than the original (which I would guess is at Kew).
Johnnie
Many thanks. I had been wondering if the switch second in from the right on the first photo might be a feathering switch.
Johnnie
Do members think the parts on offer are from this N3233?
I looked at these and wondered when they might appear on the forum and what people thought of them.
Johnnie
Many thanks for the reply. The owner tells me there are no stamps or numbers on the prop, so no details from that.
He thoughht it was from a wartime German bomber, but I had no idea.

Do any members have any thoughts on the following item:

I was in Elgin/the surrounding area last week and would love to have been able to have a look around the site. If only I’d checked the forum!!
Johnnie
Many thanks for the replies with this one. I’ll follow up the RAF Museum lead, and try the National Archives next time I’m there.
I’ve been trying to find out more about Cryer who was killed in the crash. I have a copy of his log book which covers May 1963 to the end of July 1966 when he was with various units training before moving to 32 Squadron in March 1965.
I’ll try the Squadron Association to see if they have anything as it would be nice to try and find out when he changed Squadrons as the copy of the log I have ends in July/August 1966 and at that point he is still with 32 Squadron.
Johnnie
Many thanks for that. I also have the details from Lost to Service.
If a report did survive at the PRo could anybody sugggest which group it would be under? AVIA 5?
If I am to try the RAF museum which code should I use as in the past I have only looked at Second World War losses.
Johnnie
Sorry. I have only just come back to this thread.
I hope the photo below might help. Any information would be great.
Johnnie
Thanks for clearing it up. I hadn’t clicked that FE was Far East!!
Johnnie
Hi. Thanks for the information.
Were FE rge letters (so the serial would have been FE636? Only I haven’t been able to find any Lancasters with that serial.
I’ll send a PM re other details.
Johnnie
PS.
I have just checked my copy of Menof the Battle of Britain and Boot is listed as moving to 5 OTU in October 1940. Can we assume this should be 55 OTU or could he have moved from 5 OTU to 55 OTU?
Johnnie
Thnaks for all of the help on this.
It certainly seems like it was Boot.
He had also flown with F/Lt Boot on the 11th and 14th of July, so it all seem to fit.
Thanks again,
Johnnie
