OK, now the interim period is over I have this beauty for you to exercise those “little grey cells”
Is the engine an AS Genet or a Walter Vega?
John
It’s a civilianised Harpoon, taken from a Bell 47 in Belize in 1973 ish.
John
Thunderbird. Not quite. Galdri, are you choosing?
John
Again one from the files.

Photo taken post-1968…notice the Cessna Cardinal in the background (not to mention the mid-60s Chevy Nova to the left).
The radial engine plane in the background, I’m not sure it’s a Stinson.
To me it looks too narrow, wingspan too short, engine too tighly cowled. And I’m not sure if I see wing struts (there is something near the tip of the left wing, but struts don’t go out that far).At first glance I thought it was a Lockheed Vega (which would really limit the places the photo could have been taken since I believe ther were just 1 or 2 operating back then and Tallman had one in California).
Howard DGA and yes it’s a Stearman Hammond.
John
Well considering I hadn’t a photo of it for reference:D
OK a real easy one.
John
And it’s not the Potez19?
John

Do you have Graham Warners book “Blenheim”? If not I can glean or scan stuff for you.
There does seem to be some confusion (not unexpected) as to what Sqn had which aeroplane.
John
This one looks very “French” to me (Breguet or Potez). It appears to have Hispano engines like a variation of the Potez 10 and is that a pilot operated Vickers gun sticking out over the nose?
John
Good find, I was at the Hucknall airshow and remember the B.66 “towing” the fighters.
John
Woodley was a Phillips and Powis aerodrome and flying club and as such would not have had any medical staff. In all probability the nearest ambulance would come from the RBH in my opinion.
John
That’s the Blackburn B.2 in the back of photo 12. These were used by 4 (Brough) ERFTS and 5(Hanworth)ERFTS (Elementary and Reserve Flying Training Schools) from 1934 on. Looks like an Audax in the hangar.
John
Scanning and cleaning a load of photos taken in Iraq and Trans-Jordan in 1923-25 in between entertaining guests and family.
John
Photo 1 is a Barracuda. I think 2 are Hawker Fury (F2/43 not Sea).
John
Kev 35 we need your input too. I bow to Airart that the harbour scenes are indeed looking at Bighi, it is nearly 40 years since I lived there :o)
The Audax in photo 74 was 11 FTS and ended up in South Africa.
