The cockpit section of the Typhoon and Tempest were Hawker tube construction, not monococque Graham.

I can only find one small and poor picture of this side by side twoseater in Storia degli Aerei D’italia and it appears to be silver with a darker (grey) engine cowl. It had green white red roundels with fin stripes and the name Breda A.4 on the fuselage sides aft of the cockpit. There were Colombo and Hispano versions I believe.

I still think that Ole’s a/c is an RWD but a 21 as both a/c had Cirrus engines. Both fled to Rumania and one returned post-war. Could this be the missing one? It may have fled to Turkey and been abandoned (it’s obviously in a poor state). As too the glider I can find no reference in the Polskie Construckje Lotnicze.

In Knebworth in the lovely old churchyard. I was on a visit to friends and when during a walk they mentioned “an RAF grave” in the churchyard.

RIP
I think Ole’s picture might be an RWD 16 bis.

I was there, just by the inflatable hangar. The Harrier got out just before the thing collapsed when one of our mechs bounced a sharp flint off the side.

I haven’t got anything ready so if anyone wants to chip in please do. OH.

Bruce, thanks, I have already told my friend and he recalled a conversation we had had at Point Cook re instruments.
Thank you all for the positive comments. I know that my friend would prefer them to go to where they will be best used. Can anyone definitely ID the crate as being Hurricane.
Apparently the original owner had all sorts of junk and one item my friend recalls seeing but does not know what happened to it was an ME109 servicing kit!
I have no financial interest but I would like the owner to have a fair recompense (whatever that might be)

From Peter Walker’s diaries the VIP DC.3 was a visit by the Ruler of Bhopal and the Hudson was used for mail and VIP use.
An impressed Lockheed 12 but no ID.
Mosquitos of 84 Sqn (?). Note SEAC band right across the rudder.
My favourite. A Hart (India) K2117 armed with a VGO gun.

I’ve just resurrected this thread as I have been scanning some more material from this source. which I will try to add asap.
The Dakota in the last picture coded PW was a Dakota Mk.IV. The lady who is writing the book about her father’s time in India has been trawling through a large collection of letters and official documents and the draft is making most interesting reading. The Mosquito FB VI is I believe HR556.

The lable on it says accumulator box, but I wondered as part of one end is lower.

Tony, he actually wants to dispose of these items but he hasn’t got a clue (and neither have I for that matter) as to what a fair price might be. I just thought I’d help by making their existance known.
