Yes, It was evaluated by Martlesham. Fancy the RAF could have had Dorniers.
John
It’s a Komet 1. But what airforce?
John
Here’s my challenge and I also want to know what airforce owned it.. I think AA was aluding to Edgar Wikner Percival. I was actually not trying to spend so much time on the internet.
John

The Spitfire wing section changes and the section at the tip is quite different to the root section, including washout.
John
It’s a Foster Wikner Wicko. And I wasn’t going to play this silly game.
John
I’m certain that these are all Flight photographs.
John
Yes, Roy was gifted artist as an ATC Cadet and many of his pen line drawings first appeared in ATC Gazette and the follow on Air Reserve Gazette. His technical draughtmanship is brilliant.
John
And is that Brooklands banking behind it?
John
AA was it me. I have heard from a couple of sources about the remains of the Prefect being used by a family local to me as a play area in the late forties. I was told that one of the wing panels ended up as part of a fence but I was never able to find it when I searched 15 to 20 years ago. I would be interested in your new info.
Cheers
John
I d’T you are right. It was the other contender for the Spec. The first flew with a Cheetah.

ICAR-Comercial Rumanian. Sorry i’ve been busy and I thought that it was all becoming too elitist 😮 This has been a facinating thread which allows people like my self, to indulge a little, in getting rid of some of the nearly 60 years of accumulating knowledge by being devoutly interested in a subject.
When a post comes up and I do not instantly feel I have no vibes about what it is, or what nationallity it might be and know where to find the info then I admit to myself “I don’t know it” but I will next time.
Please, no more talk of elitism, most of us have our grey areas but it’s better than being a one trick pony and moaning that someone else has the knowedge you don’t.
John
An easy one.

Fascinating photos – please keep posting them.
Interesting ancient looking fuselage frame behind the first Mossie hulk in this pic – what is/was it?
Tiger Moth?
John
Yes I too had just come to the conclusion it was a C690.
John
Oh dear, Oh dear. The mention of the words Walt Disney, despite the word “former”, in any sentence fills me with forboding and the names of the team are so unforgetable in avaition history, I’ve forgotten them already. I just hope some of ‘our’ recogonised names are consulted but Pork Wings will probably be on the menu first.
John
It was originally an Avro 504 and with that fin probably an O or L but as to who put the bits together in that form I don’t know.
