You people are hilarious. Acres of discussions about the minutae of Ju-52, Ju-52/m, Ju-52/3m, and nobody seems to have noticed that it’s not a Junkers at all. My guess is Caproni, though I’m not at all sure. But I am sure that’s not an Iron Annie cockpit roof.
It’s not a good photo but do look at the Junkers ailerons and it appears to have a cover over it’s cockpit. It is a 52.3m.

That would be fantastic. The only details I am short of are the bottom of the chain drive/ floor where the chain goes through and the dashboard/controls.
Cheers

Thank you Brian. Your photos prove the use of the 1 Ton rear axle. Now the only thing I have to find out is the chain to gearbox/ or floor arrangment.

After getting my Nick ‘ers in a twist I think if might even be a Nakajima J1N Irving. I have often thought that if I had to take an interest in Japanese or Russian stuff I’d take up bus spotting.

And me. And yes I have just received a letter saying my eye test is overdue.

Ki 45 Francis?

Again I would join the chorus and say Tollerton. As a teenage spotter Daks could always be seen at Tollerton and the was a fuselage dumped at the northern end of the airfield behind the T.2 hangar as late as 1959.

Is this the elusive Taylor Wagtail. Certainly the little tourer behind is a Morris 8 series two.
I wasn’t going to get in a “flap” about Al posting a modified Proctor so I’ll leave it to you guys.
Open house.

On RAF uniforms the high domed crowns are “Kings Crowns” and the ones slightly dipped in the centre are “Queens Crowns”, ie issued in the reigns of a male or female monarch. There are only male crowns present in the picture and I agree the cresent one is likely to be Egyptian.

When we deployed our Harriers to Gut sometime in the seventies I found a large section (branch) of Lichtensteiner radar aerial under some barbed wire over where the 17 unknown russians are buried.

Great thread, lots of interesting stuff. A couple of questions –
SMS88; is the Sea Tutor (aboard ship) photo sharp in the original?
John Aeroclub – d’you have another/other shots of this machine you can share?
Cheers,
James
I don’t have any personal photos of this Sea Tutor but somewhere I have a
very early Tutor in my collection.
