Person unknown.

A motley collection of warbirds
Hurricane IIC, no serial but is that another Indian name under the cockpit?

A Beaufort 1 Any comments on the serial?

Hudson, Unfortunately the great interest has obscured the serial.

And finally a Curtiss Mohawk IV BT471 of three shipped to India (BT470-472)

No problem, but on the photo of “P” I can just make out a 5, so I think this gives me a serial. 😀
John
Thanks, the AB DC book is one I need for my library.

My take on this is that it is a civilian mod. I can’t see any RAF use for such a short weapon. Also I would question why fit a lanyard ring on what has become a pocket weapon. I feel that it would be much better restored to a 5″ barrel as a more authentic service gun. I seem to remember that the “Snowdrops” were issued with these as well as the .38 Enfield revolver.
John
I can’t find it in the Order of Battle. Was it a relief landing ground for the Home defence Units?
John
Thanks for the input. It’s my understanding that all DC.2s used by the RAF were called DC.2K as they were modified in some ways. Probably stripped out and british radios (My guess). Bruce Robertson has AX755 as aquired in the Middle East.
I think the Indian example above has the nose landing lights with the broader fin.

A few more from India
Bent Hawker Hart/Audax.

Another of the breed with some local scenery.

On to Dakotas of 31 sqn. 31 Sqn aquired many of their a/c from airlines in the Middle East also including some DC.2s which the RAF called DC.2Ks.

This one seems to be a VIP flight a/c “P”. (MA925) edit

Note it has Cyclone engines.

And one of the elusive DC.2Ks AX755 “O”.

Is there any connection with the Bernard designs? The engine looks hispano.
John
Wicher it is.
Over.
John
That I haven’t found yet.
