I’m thinking that if anyone tries to hijack a commercial flight now would discover what its like to be weightless……..as the pilots do some real “flying”……short of ripping the wings off the plane that is….
That did happen once involving a Fedex aircraft and a disgruntled airline employee.
Anyone notice the uk airport departures area was filmed at? bmistar cant answer he knows!
Its Stansted Airport isn’t it?
Indeed i was on that aircraft as it was being filmed i was sat at 3 doors but on the other side of which you can see!!!
So where were you flying to?
Theres a few on airliners.net including these two: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1060628/M/
and this one http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1060627/M/
Very nice photos. I see you saw G-SASC – The Scottish Air Ambulance. Any idea why it was in Leeds?
Never been but: There are 12 Check-in desks, 5 Gates, and 3 Baggage Reclaim belts. There are 2 passenger terminals, and 7 aircraft stands. Annual capacity is Approxiametely 2,000,000. The airport has a very restricted choice of facilities; passengers will find no financial services and only basic dining and refreshment options, while shopping is restricted to duty-free only. There are no business facilities on-hand at the airport. Airport facilities at Kos Ippokratis Airport (KGS) include:
Duty-free shopping and dining and refreshment facilities
Business facilities at the Neptune Hotels Convention Centre and Spa
Car hire / car rental companies at KGS airport
Parking spaces for 220 vehicles
Disabled facilities
Bus, taxi and hotel shuttle transfers from the airport to the island’s resorts.
As for airbridges, after looking at photos, I have come to that conclusion that they do not have airbrdges, as all aircraft in the photos have stairs beside them.
Its in that thread posted by MANAIRPORTMAD.

Not sure why the passenger will be evacuated. Probably just the press blowing the whole thing out of proportion.
Tonights Jet2 Palma service again operated by 2 B737’s according to the LBA live arrivals. LS258 has landed at 00:00 While an second flight from Palma was due at 00:35 as LS258.
I realised that tonight’s Jet2 Palma flight departed 5 hours late, and instead of arriving back at 23:20, it is now estimated to be in at 03:45.
Does anyone know the reason for this lengthy delay? More problems with the 757 perhaps?
Sounds as if they are having big problems. Who owns the B767 thats on stand?
Superb photos. Really like the Thomsonfly 752 and the Emirates 777-300ER.
I’m not sure what it could be, although I’m not local to LBA. Just seems a strange way to (if it was) arrive or depart from Leeds. Looking at google earth, it seems weird, as you say, to be over your way, as when at my grans in Morley, you can see them arriving (on 32) and departing (from 14). As for the other runways, for a 32 departure, it seems totally in the wrong direction for aircraft to be over Bradford, as does a 14 arrival, and they are way off the runway heading.
Cheers, thanks for that.
I finshed my Exams on the 1st June, cos up here in Scotland they seem to start earlier. I was doing Advanced Highers and Highers.
Good Luck everyone that has still got exams to sit!
