The problem with your argument is that DASS also employs AESA antennas. 😉
Interesting. Thanks.
The weapon AASM was specifically designed for the Rafale. I doubt Mirage F1 will ever get the same capability, though Morocco will use AASM with.
Behind public communications, there are lots of very subtle things we don’t know about.
Rafale demonstrated what it was made for : entering an enemy air-space, avoiding any air defence, being ready to deal with enemy fighter, making his way through to the targets and destroying them successfully. Of course, if you simply read my previous sentence, you won’t get it. Nothing specially impressive here. But we’re not told everything about the Libyan theatre.
At the same time you are mowing about the Rafale being capable of things 10 years after it entered service which other aircraft are capable of since decades.
Are you claiming that other aircraft are capable since decades of :
There is still a lot of misunderstanding about what Rafale is actually doing over Libya…
This topic stinks.
Obligatory…
I also happen to think that commenting upon marketing claims and slogan is not very interesting, because we know so well where it leads to.
I quote myself.
People should also stop focusing on the polemic part.
@ PPP : I’m glad you turned the situation at your advantage, thank you.;)
@ mrmalaya : there’s nothing fair when it comes to corporate communication and marketing. I think it’s not a good idea to claim than French are nastier than others. It’s like a tennis game.

Its simple, small and instructive. Off course, the name of the author might make “goose bumps” on some…
In fact, I find the book too old.
Lake is just fine when he talks about Typhoon, AFAIR.
Am I the only one to have put BW in my ignore list ?
We do have a picture of the RBE2-AA, you just don’t like what you see. It is completely unreasonable (unless you are Thunder or Bluewings) to expect the Rafale to be able to achieve vastly higher density in it’s AESA radar than any other country can.
Picture of RBE-2 AA PROTOTYPE whether you like it or not. Trying to make up any argument based on the idea that we have pics of the production radar right now in June 2011 is… (MCQ)
What do you think we are trying to do in our thread about the Rafale ?
It is completely unreasonable
Sorry my holly lord, but… “unreasonable”… why ? So, I’m Thunder ? Is that all you can do ? Bringing here your battles from the WAFF ?
For the sake of THIS forum, NO, THANKS.
And again, dear TaranisAttack, thanks for your flamebaiting effort on my forum, and the nasty advertising on the WAFF.
I really don’t understand what is the problem with the idea that a prototype would have less modules than the ultimate array…
It’s the same for other prototypes AFAIK… Including CAESAR.
FACT : we have no picture of the production RBE-2 AA.
Why ? I don’t understand…
😀
Another black Rafale !
and give certain members of the Rafale club something to rant about.
Interesting…
So, when bad news are published about Typhoon, the Typhoon club is afraid of the reaction of the Rafale club.
When bad news are published about Rafale, the Rafale club is afraid of the reaction of the F/A-18 club, the Gripen club, the Typhoon club, the F-35/F-22 club, the F-16 club and the F-4 club at least…
Don’t worry, EELightning, you have no idea of what hell is. 😀
Is Rob back ? 🙂
Post edited with the links. I recognise my style in the titles of the III and IV versions 😮
Nic
Years later, it helped me a lot to find those threads with Google ! 😀
It was a pretty good idea ! 😉
I have added the dates. But I understand your PoV.
This is why I finally didn’t change anything to my forum organisation. A single thread for anything can make stuffs quite hard to locate, unless one remember very accurately when he read it first, or the context of the discussion.
