Indeed, the current capability gap between Rafale and Typhoon is rather astounding. How did they get all these weapons integrated so fast?

The only significant difference is Rafale has Storm Shadow integrated and I don’t think Typhoon has that yet, so its hardly astounding. Typhoon has Paveway, the closest RAF type to AASM.

Then the French started trying to change the subject and tried to compare AASM to Paveway, a completely pointless comparison.

PPP : stop calling people trolls please.

To me, as far as I remember (I once learnt english) “closest… to” is a comparative. So, if someone compared Paveway to AASM, it was you.

You tried to diminish the differences between Rafale and Typhoon.

    My initial post was :

So far, Rafale fly over Libya (or near libyan coasts) with :

    • Mica
    • AASM (Hammer)
    • Scalp EG
    • Reco NG (Areos)
    • refueling pod
    • Damocles pod

Let’s sink some boats (Exocet) now ! πŸ˜€

    And you said :

The only significant difference is Rafale has Storm Shadow integrated and I don’t think Typhoon has that yet, so its hardly astounding.

So, to you, Reco NG is insignificant, as the refuelling pod, as the capabilities of AASM as used in Libya (undocumented). Well, that’s a PoV.

However, my initial message was not here for comparison purpose.

Why should we all be supportive of an international armada bombing an adversary that can not fight back on equal terms?

    Sure !
Gadhafi’s foreign mercenaries attacking civilians aren’t in the top of prefered heroes.

Libyan TV claims that one French fighter was shootdown over Tripoli.?

Already denied by our supreme HQ.
They also claim that 14 Scalp have been fired.

TMor, you often write sense here

    Don’t worry, it’s not over. πŸ˜€

    No one’s perfect…

One a different level, hearing Loke and Scorpion82 speaking of “Rafale fanboyism” here when themselves are so often borderline regarding their own beloved planes is funny.

    You’re totally wrong about them.

The clear cut meaning being : Dassault was honest and reported it…

The “it” being “20,000-rupee bribe”. Not the other part.

BTW, next answer did not stir any protest from Gripen fans? Why?
Are they no good at reading English or less whiny than the French?

It was not by Mr Trimble.

That’s true about the 20,000-rupee bribe. But somebody is responsible for the prostitutes.

So, why did he choose to put “Rafale” in the title ? It would have been much better without naming a particular aircraft !
“How to put “India”, “bribes” and “prostitute” in one headline”
Guess what ? It would be even better to replace the name “India” with “fighter deal” ! After all, somebody is responsible for the prostitutes !

But I’m afraid that Mr Trimble couldn’t resist to put Rafale (though innocented) in this title, which give it a slight tilt…

Ok, it may have been a little joke, maybe he has nothing against Rafale, but…

I don’t buy this argument. Not after he answered “somebody has to be responsible for the prostitutes”, choosing a title with only Rafale, and no Gripen of Eurofighter.

Mr Trimble didn’t publish my comment, in which I wrote “I really hope people will read more than only the title”. Loke posted the link and only the title here…

I don’t buy his attempt to save himself about the Peter Collins piece too : the same, just check his comments !

Well, I’m not sure to appreciate how Mr Trimble implies that those women were there because of Dassault…

Very strange to put “Rafale” “bribe” and “prostitution” in the same title, unless he has an agenda…

I think it is worth mentioning that, according to A&C, something which was seen by some as one of the major problems of Rafale has come to an end :
The 12F used Damocles with Rafale in Afghanistan to drop GBU-12s during January.

At last, Rafale can self-designate targets for laser guided ammunition.

    Isn’t 20,000 roupies less than 500 dollars

Since SK, we’re used to being charged with ridiculous briberies.:D

With no Rafale F4 built all the testing and operational evaluation has to be done by a special F3 at least.

    Why so special ?

    I can’t remember of many differences between F3 and F3 Road Map…

    These aren’t F4 yet.

According to DSI Hors SΓ©rie nΒ°6 (June/July 2009), the first production RBE-2 AA will fly on a Rafale F3 from the third batch, and the second will fly on the first 4th batch Rafale.

Not only on the first 4th batch Rafale, but also on the last of the third, AFAIR.
