Thought NOTAMS restricted kite flying, 😎
Just want to say a big thank you to TFC and all the pilots, ground crew and aircraft owners for a stunning first day at Legends 2018.
28 in the Balbo, at least another 20 aircraft in the days flying display. STUNNING !!!!!
Good luck and safe flying for day two.

Whilst the loan of the RAF Museum Meteor was a good idea maybe time for a change ?
The Meteor, by coincidence, has gone to Horseguards Parade in London for temporary display in the RAF 100 show.
The Lysander makes an excellent and different exhibit at Tangmere, even without the wings attached it has a great story to tell.
If the Meteor is returned to RAF museum let us hope if finds a suitable display, or another period of loan ? p.s. and I do not mean Pima !!!!
To many of the RAF Museum collection are now in storage.
Is the film available on DVD ?
I have a old (very old) VHS copy probably re-recorded from a TV showing.
Dispite a bit of a Google I can not find details of the Norwegian Vampires display schedule whilst in the UK.
Their official site http://www.historicalsquadron.no appear not to have been updated since 2015.
Where is this restoration be carried out and any ideas of completion dates
Excellent !!! Did not know it had been moved from the ex RAF site main gate. Is WL795 now in the care / ownership of the museum ?
Do you know which issue the Prentice plans were in ?
I have most and will happily copy them, if I can find them !
Glad I went to see the film last night.
Shame the preview event turned into a comedy show. They could have said and done much more.
One question, did anybody think the Glenn Miller band and music appropriate. Surely an RAF band would have been more suitable ?
Lots of info about the reason the Swedish Historic jets dont fly in the UK. Think often quoted one is that the CAA does not recognise the pilots licences, thus the Display Authorisation (DA) can not be completed.
The cooperation of the the Historic Flight, the Swedish Civil and the Air Force is close. Think the Lansen’s have been used by the Air Force for trials and target work.
Thanks for the link Brian. I was searching for the event under Sywell and found nothing.
It would have looked even nicer at Woodford with the aviation collection inside it.
Whilst I am sure the old firestation building is very useful having a restored, functioning, period building with a known site history would be far more sensible.
I assume there is still a chance that the Aviation collection at Woodford could purchase the hangar, and pay to have it redelivered back to Manchester.
Interesting ???
Can you give details of which Canberra aircraft you are working on and where they are located / moving to ?
Think Hendon’s GR3 is currently on tour for the RAF 100th and has been replaced with the 1 sqn GR9 from Cosford.
The photos of the XV741 refurbishment look good, think it was finished in the paint shop at RAF Marham.
Guess it depends if the current owner looking to sell or loan the aircraft to another collection.
For my money either Coventry or Newark would be good homes, although both have late mark Sea Harriers, a GR1 would be great. Sadly I doubt either collection could offer under cover display.
Can not help but wonder if Old Warden has reduced the maximum permitted size of the crowd ? Could this be related to insurance issues ? They always seemed to suffer with a large crowd, so instead of fixing the problems, they have reduce the size of the crowd ? Think they are trying the “Goodwood” trick. Reduce the available tickets, then increase the price. Equals more money for less work.
Always hopped the ex Air Atlantique Proctor could have been acquired by the collection. Good news all the same.
