Mostlyharmless – the current loan does not involve any of the control equipment that would be required to run it as a simulator again; so I believe that option is unlikely to materialise. We also understand the electric consumption could make that economically unviable.

As for the colour scheme – discussions are underway with the owner on that topic and details will be posted as soon as any agreement is reached.

Your colour choices are noted Peter and it looks like I’ll need to visit the cash point before the 12th to satisfy Blue’s thirst – Earl Grey?

Tom, this time round is there any means of lobbying the City to support the museum?

Apologies to Blue_2 if I’ve sworn at you; that was unintentional! 😀

The forum’s hosts have the cockpit featured on their main site http://www.key.aero/view_article.asp?ID=6942&thisSection=home and it includes an internal view.

White has also featured strongly as a suggested scheme – although time will tell on that decision.

Personally speaking I’m quite taken by the description ‘Victorish’ – I bet your ears were burning late yesterday morning!!

It’ll be my round next Saturday for the teas and coffees – but make sure that you bring lots of spending money. 😀

Hastings TG517 has benefitted tremendously from the decision to remove the trees from the eastern end of the site; plus the long dryish summer has also allowed the restoration manager and his helpers to make sure and steady progress on de-corroding and repainting the airframe.

A couple of weeks ago the museum hosted a reunion visit by a group of Berlin Airlift veterans who had a great time reacquainting themselves with TG517!

I’ve been mulling a few things over and I would just like to remind Cockpit-Fest participants that their event passes entitle them to free admission to the museum until the end of 2013 – this includes events like the Indoor Aeroboot, some come along and undertake some ‘face to face aviation trading’ next Saturday.

After a busy run up to the Night Shoot yesterday several updates have been made to the news & information pages on the NAM website.

All of the tables have now been allocated for the Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble next Saturday. A direct mailing campaign is being carried out to the museum’s visitor email distribution list to supplement the pre-event publicity and try and attract more buyers to the event. Once again there is a good mix of new sellers and regular participants at the event. The offer is still open to any stallholders to send in list of items that they will have on their stalls next week.

Some information about of a significant donation of new books to help raise money for the museum has also been posted on the NAM website.

A humble album of photographs from yesterday’s photo shoot has also been added in here!

Sorry if you’re upset Jack, I just thought that the Victor cockpit thread would add a bit of clarity to this new arrival and make it easier to find – similar reasoning to that you gave in a comment the other month regarding a similar situation at Elvington!

Rather than the Mods get any additional flak I’m more than happy if you decide to lock; merge; or delete the thread – whatever it takes to settle things down!

I hope that your day gets a bit better Jack after this post!!

A very good question Peter and one which has already been debated a lot today by the ‘enthusiasts’ on site for the Day / Night Photo Shoot!! 😉

NAM did receive a tip-off about spare supplies of ‘hemp’! 😀

A few ‘parish notices’ from eastern Nottinghamshire this afternoon.

Several flourishes on the booking front means that the Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble is now over three quarters sold – with only 7 tables left to sell from the 48 available. It’s once again good to report a good mix of items being sold and several new sellers to the Newark events booking spaces.

Participants on the Night Shoot on 5th October and at the Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble on 12th October should be aware of some overnight closures to the A46 road during the next three weeks – this could impact on late ‘departures’ to the Night Shoot and early ‘arrivals’ to the Indoor Aeroboot / Aerojumble.

    More details via this weblink!

Finally for now for anyone that might be interested, there’s a few photographs in the NAM Gallery of the Saab car visitors who participated in the Viggen photo opportunity!
