I understand that more photographs should appear tomorrow.

It seemed to go really well and several forumites were present and on fine form!

We did have a couple of hefty showers, one of which slightly curtailed the Spitfire flypast – in the post flypast ‘debrief-call’ the CO advised he had to RTB due to the incoming rain.

Fingers crossed for better weather tomorrow so we get the full BBMF flypast, to help end the event and mark the book launch, which is being attended by some veterans.

As I posted a couple of days ago the weather forecast that I normally rely on keeps changing – still showing a mixed and showery picture on the 15th & 16th!

Today is typical – from my office window I can look out towards Nottingham and the cricket ground; they’ve had a terrific storm this afternoon and haven’t played since 2.20pm; here it’s been OK, just a few light showers!!

I just hope for those who are camping-over at the museum tonight that it doesn’t rain too much!

I’m hearing whispers of a Merlin being added to the display for this weekend (possible ground running I believe) :applause: – although as yet it’s not been added to the Cockpit-Fest event list in here!

I understand that there was a car parked up in front of the main gate first thing this morning and the comment was made about it being an ‘Early Aerobooter!’ 😀

To the best of my knowledge the first ‘Official Aerobooter’ is due on site on Thursday, whether they actually turn up remains to be seen.

As I was leaving the museum today someone had called in to book a pitch and that enquiry was being processed – third of the day by all accounts; so the number of sellers is still increasing!

Traffic to the museum website has started to ramp-up with a mix of Cockpit-Fest and Aeroboot / Aerojumble searches, which bodes well for the weekend.

Just before lunchtime it was good to see a moderately low pass by the BBMF Dakota – everyone at NAM believe that it was a ‘Flight outing’ to see where they have to come to on Saturday and Sunday!! :applause:
