It was good to meet up with some forumites ‘old’ and ‘new’ yesterday and I hope that I provided both a degree of assistance to some of you – it was good to hear your news face to face! 🙂

robdd1 – I’m glad that you enjoyed your Vulcan cockpit visit; such was the interest I even ended up covering a few of the lunchtime cockpit tours myself. 🙂

As previously advised on this thread this event was the first Indoor Aeroboot/Aerojumble that NAM hasn’t sold out and this wasn’t helped by a couple of ‘no-shows’. I have tried my best to promote the event as widely as possible, but as advised in previous years we are slightly restricted about what we can do as it is not deemed to be a ‘core museum activity’ and we try to reflect this in the ‘modest’ participation fees. As always I will do my best to keep it going and attract sellers and buyers, ‘old and new’.

What has personally pleased me has been the ‘fresh-sellers’ that seem to be attracted – as noted by Air Ministry. This time it included the museum’s own stall, which was starting to dispose of non-accessed items from the museum’s stores in preparation for the move to the new Object Storage Building that is currently being constructed.

Having checked with the museum this morning I understand that there might be some progress on the CCTV front; and we’re also monitoring a few online sale sites! What really annoys me is how people deem it acceptable to steal in the first place and then to steal from a charity! 😡

As some forumites may know a significant incident of shop lifting took place at the start of the day in the museum shop. Reference is made to this in the website news item; while the museum tries to find out who might have perpetrated this theft I have been asked not to engage into too much debate about this sad state of affairs!
