The ‘ecological health & safety project’ is legitimate – wasn’t aware that he was due on site last night.

‘Lake Winthorpe’ is slowly moving down towards Drove Lane – good revenue from the weekend will assist this groundwork; hopefully no newts in residence yet!! 😮

UFO society ??? Although I do know about the ‘H’. :confused:

I have a ‘signed-chit’ from 12jaguar witnessing that I photographed the Stirling this year – however still struggling to find time to process my photographs and get them onto the NAM gallery! 😮

On the plus side all of the magazines have been sent the post-event news release! 😉

Sorry to hear about the item ‘missing’ from Bill’s Jaguar. 😡

I have just received a ‘heads-up’ that BBC East Midlands Today (1830 -1900 hours) will be running two news items relating to Bomber Command this evening (18th June) and tomorrow evening (19th June) – these reports were filmed at Newark Air Museum, Staunton in the Vale and Langar; and feature various veterans, and local people with aviation interests and stories to tell!

Additional news item added for Wednesday (20th June) – fresh info from interviewer, just before Monday’s item aired!!

Just back home – wet weather gear now dried out in late evening ‘breeze’; managed to get ‘Fest evening meal’ done without too much weather interruption.

Just done the vote counting from Saturday’s visitors – looks like another close run event!

Weather forecast looks better for tomorrow – let’s hope we get a good turnout of visitors! Down a bit today on overall numbers – but not as much as it could have been and perhaps it was to be expected with the weather that we encountered!

I may still be on car park duty first thing! 🙂

Just a quick reminder to Cockpiteers delivering their exhibits today that there is a new double gating system on the old airfield taxiway and that after 5pm tonight it is likely that those gates will be locked – for access to the site you will have to travel along Drove Lane and use the access gate that is behind Hangar 2.

Those participants that this applies to will have been notified, but I have been asked to post this reminder – similar access arrangements will apply for out of hours access on Saturday evening!

Pleased to report the first cockpits are already on site and the Radio 2 coverage seems to still be having a beneficial effect on web-traffic! 🙂

Since Rocketeer’s BBC plug this evening traffic to the museum website has stepped up a level – great work everyone! 🙂

Just for clarity it wasn’t a Lightning owner that I’ve been ‘stalking’ since before Christmas. I had dealings with the production team re-the Saab 75th Anniversary and via one of the producers I have been trying to elicit interest from one of the other presenters! 😉

Thanx also for the best wishes from everyone. This is a great event. I have been sending a daily blog to the Chris Evans show – no luck so far!! ….

Fingers crossed re your plugging away at the Chris Evans Show – sadly my ‘pestering’ of a certain Top Gear presenter seems to have not produced any results either 🙁 – perhaps we might just get a ‘cold-call!’

On a more positive PR front; the first local radio coverage for Cockpit-Fest will go out on tomorrow morning’s Breakfast Show, with mentions thereafter throughout the day. 🙂

Plus BBC Radio Nottingham’s Summer Saturday’s roving reporter has just confirmed that she will be attending Cockpit-Fest in the afternoon – so I may end up fitting a few of you up for interviews!! 😀

I think most of the cash to fund this site comes from companys selling high quality items and not Joe blogs selling the odd book or dial.:diablo:

…. or a Derwent engine …. at the end of the day revenue is revenue; every little helps! 😉

Why would anybody advertise in flypast with it’s limited circulation, and yet it’s forum seems to me to have a far greater number of potential buyers……

In the last 24 hours Cockpit-Fest and Aeroboot / Aerojumble searches linking through to the museum website have been steadily ramping up; including an increase in links from the BBC Things To Do website! 🙂

Later today the trophies will be retrieved from their display case in Hangar 2.

Finally for now, anyone approaching the museum along the A17 from the Boston/ Sleaford direction should be aware of possible delays due to a set of major road works between Beckingham and Coddington – some queues in recent days have been pretty bad! 🙁

NAM has tried to provide similar assistance for this weekend’s Aeroboot sale with these lists along with these! 😉
