    ….
I agree with T64, it should still be remembered and taught in schools, which sadly do not have History lessons anymore..

Sorry Jim I have to disagree!

So far this year I’ve hosted 4 education visits at Newark (World War II & Evacuation topics) and look what your namesake county currently has to offer http://www.ahleducation.org.uk/

    Nice photos!

Viggen cockpit viewing is currently being evaluated (new cockpit opener) as part of a plan to undertake some mini ‘Saab Tours’ in this 75th Anniversary Year of the company i.e. Viggen, Draken and Safir, which are all displayed at Newark. The cockpit opening team is still waiting for the formal launch of such a project, which is being slightly held up as many people are busy trying to sort out a few impending projects!

As normal more details will follow when they’re confirmed. Another likely candidate for additional cockpit access is the Argosy Procedures Trainer, which after one false start a year or so ago is now nearly ready to receive visitors again!

    Meteor NF14 move!

It looks like the campers at Cockpit-Fest and stallholders at the Summer Aeroboot will have a new companion over on the Southfield Site – as the Meteor NF14 was moved over there yesterday!

…..Rumour also has it that, by popular demand, the curry club will be in operation again at cockpitfest. South Indian cooking again. Absolutely nothing against Hog Roast, they do it well and it’s very nice, but it’s a bit too greasy for some. If there’s a run on Bounty Bars in the shop we’ve forgotten the coconut again.

Note to self …. ‘Extra toilet block required for 16th & 17th June 2012!!’ 😀

    Thank you!

On behalf of everyone at NAM I would just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to richw_82 for organising delivery of some Shackleton spares to Winthorpe today – sorry that I wasn’t able to come over. 🙂 They are greatly appreciated and we now need to try and schedule some time to get them fitted!

It’s that time again when we are able to start listing what is due to appear at Cockpit-Fest. 🙂

The first two cockpits to be booked in for the 2012 Cockpit-Fest event are Hunter FGA9 – XE597 and Lightning F6 – XS932; and both have been exhibited before.

Further details, including the details of this year’s first two ‘event supporters’ can be found on the News & Information Page of the NAM website.
