I’ve just completed the last set of emails to over 500 online contacts about the Indoor Aeroboot on Saturday 29th October and next years 2012 V-Force reunion event at the museum on Saturday 28th April 2012.

There are still some tables left for the Aeroboot but if you’re interested you need to make contact fairly soon.

Just to re-emphasise the dates of 16th & 17th June 2012, as mentioned in here were set back just after the 2011 event finsished! πŸ™‚

I believe that this suggestion is intended to be just a grouping of cockpit types from a certain era displayed within the event and not a β€˜theme’ for the event – at which cockpits of all types will always be made most welcome! πŸ™‚

Sounds like a great idea to me! πŸ™‚

Don’t forget that the date has been set for 16th & 17th June 2012 as mentioned in here – I guess we need to try and get a Cockpit-Fest 2012 news item up and running on the Newark Air Museum website. πŸ˜‰

……… Is there an up to date printed guide/directory available which lists all UK aviation museums/collections? – or an online equivalent?

This site is quite a good online version http://www.aviationmuseumguide.co.uk/

Mark – do you have a surname?

Newark has several Tim’s on its Cockpit-Fest and Aeroboot mailing lists but with more details we can try to assist! πŸ™‚

PM me the details if you have them!

The cockpit was pretty much gutted when the NF14 arrived at Newark and whilst some work is being carried out I’m not sure how much progress has been made – I’ll ask whether any photographs are available.

Another object of the week has been added to the Museum Website along with an update for museum members about the Vulcan Ops presentation, which is now set to take place on Saturday 15th October 2011.

Indoor Aeroboot – Saturday 29th October

Now that the Shoreham event has taken place and β€˜cornered’ all of the good Aeroboot weather for the next decade πŸ˜€ – I thought I’d post a gentle reminder about Newark’s Indoor Aeroboot on Saturday 29th October!

Tables are still available, with booking details in the above link – it’s also good to report several new sellers have booked in at Newark, which will hopefully enable some fresh material to come onto the market!!

Passes will start being sent out at the end of next week!

Yes, but that doesn’t make any difference to the ticket buying public, you just simply tick a box and hang on to your receipt – or am I forgetting something?

What is being forgotten is that the Gift Aided price is higher than the non-gift aided; the years free return visits are in recognition of the extra cost; the same reason as why we give the cafe vouchers!

As for trading companies; the trading activity is deemed to be a more risky activity and by separating it off you’re restricting the liability for the charity. The current tax rules allows for ‘all trading profits’ to be covenanted (I think you can also use Gift Aid now) and thereby no tax is paid and it is therefore deemd to be ‘Tax-efficient’!

Whilst in oposition the Conservative Party said they would simplify the rules and allow some trading activities to come back within the main charity – so far that hasn’t been addressed!

Have a good day tomorrow – with the weather forecast I think it should be ‘ice-cold’ drinks all round; unlike the thermal blankets that may be needed on October 29th at Newark! πŸ˜€
