NAM Aeroboot Observations

Since Saturday I’ve done a quick bit of analysis of various pieces of Aeroboot feedback from the event and one interesting trend seems to have emerged. I decided to post these here rather than on the Cockpit-Fest thread, thereby trying to keep that more focused on that particular subject.

It appears that general aviation items (books, models, diecast etc) seem to have provided positive feedback; whilst feedback regarding aircraft parts / avionics seems to be less positive.

Plus on reflection I don’t recall there being quite as many of the ‘Cockpit-Fest types’ around on Saturday; might that show a slowness in that part of the market, or could it be related to the close proximity (time wise) of the Shoreham event? :confused:

🙂 On a much more positive note; since Saturday we’ve already received more space bookings for our June event that runs alongside Cockpit-Fest than we have ever done before!

This interest has already been further reinforced with a higher number of online / email requests for June booking forms than normal!! :confused:

So I obviously need to get the forms emailed out later today; if anyone doesn’t receive one and wants one, please contact us via the NAM website.

2011 Events List Available

Brian – it was good to meet up and thanks for the kind words. Your work panel work items were inspirational and will form a good basis for the trophies that we discussed.

waco – the Argosy procedures trainer has recently been returned to operational order, as per its previous days at RAF Finningley; so much so the 1970s technology has to be gently nursed into life in the correct sequence otherwise it goes into ‘temperamental mode’. We’re currently trying to get suitably qualified volunteers available to run sessions on the trainer – not sure when that will be sorted. If you specifically wanted a good look – cannot guarantee a full ‘start-up’ I’m sure that something could be arranged – long gone are the days of it being used as Santa’s Grotto at Christmas! 😀

Matt – glad that you had a good day sorry that I didn’t get a proper chat; are you coming along to the Canberra events in May and indeed Cockpit-Fest? I’ve just completed an article on Canberras for a UK magazine, which should help to showcase our gathering! 🙂

One final point, the date for the autumn Indoor Aeroboot has just been slated for Saturday 29th October and will be included in the new handout – all the key 2011 dates are listed here!
