Just in case anyone takes this seriously they didn’t actually manage to book a stall because it was sold out!! 😀

Cockpiteers attending tomorrow’s gathering at Newark can obtain details of two events in the south of England that are looking for cockpit displays for their events – one in July 2011 and the other in September.

Anyone not at the Aeroboot and who might be interested can PM me for details! 🙂

🙁 BBC Local Radio is a lifeline to organisations like Newark Air Museum and I will be lobbying to try and help secure a continued service e.g. BBC Radio Nottingham have featured NAM’s Aeroboot this morning and on their website see Something Different listing here!

All of the table have now been set out for Saturday and the museum has been receiving a steady stream of calls about the event – weather outlook is not too bad and the kettles on for the ‘complimentary’ teas and coffees for the stall holders! 😀

I’ve also got confirmation that some of the proceeds from ‘bequeathed item sale’ on Saturday will be going towards Cockpit-Fest trophies and the Saturday evening roast for Cockpiteers!! 🙂 A couple of new pictures have been added to the Sale Album to show the layout of these items.

Hope to see a few of you on Saturday – we’ve also got some good news to impart at the Cockpit-Fest meeting at 12 noon!! 🙂

Sorry for the slight delay in replying too busy!

Blue – I look forward to catching up with you again on Saturday; bring lots of money! 😀

aeropark – as notified in the Dispersal newsletter, NAM did view and bid on a Dominie; as far as I’m aware they’re still waiting for news whether its been a successful bid! :confused:

Nigel – WOW is perhaps really appropriate; it’s a gold mine of material; not sure about G-ALZZ. They’re now receiving telephone and email enquiries for items identified in the online Album pictures from people that cannot make it on Saturday – however nothing is being pre-sold.

I’m also hearing a few whispers that some of the money raised form the ‘bequeathed item sale’ will go towards trophies for Cockpit-Fest, 🙂 I’ll try and get that confirmed when I go over tomorrow to help set up all of the Aeroboot tables!!

Indoor Aeroboot – Saturday 12 March, 2011

Just a quick note for any Cockpiteers attending this Saturday’s Indoor Aeroboot – it’s been agreed with Bill O’S that there’ll be a brief get together at 12 noon in the Member’s Crewroom (behind the NAM Shop) to discuss the latest progress regarding the slightly revised format to Cockpit-Fest 2011.

James – opening aircraft cockpits relies on volunteers who have all received training to ensure that visitors are safe when looking inside the aircraft that are open. Sadly this means that they’re not open every day but we do hold regular open cockpit events and this also happens during events like this weekend’s Aeroboot or June’s Cockpit-Fest.

Wiseman – one of the benefits of the Empedia platform is that it is licensed to link to external providers like You Tube, which is where the SHAR footage of ZA176 is hosted. I’m sure that you’d be made very welcome when you visit as the museum has strong connections to Canada. 🙂

:confused: At the risk of posting something really obvious Ringo – a PDF file of the Planning Inspectorate’s judgment on the Linton site is contained on the following website http://www.stoplintonwindfarm.org.uk/ and that does reference the aviation aspects of the appeal decision!

At least you can look at the grass turning green. Snif… I can smell the spring around the corner… not – we just had 20 cm of snow yesterday 🙁

Sky High – at the moment Empedia is being 😮 ‘piloted’ in the East Midlands, but I understand that Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire may be getting involved with some of their key sites!

jr – it does open up some great opportunities and these first few pages are just really a ‘toe in the water’ to see what works best (hence the request for feedback). The Vulcan footage was extracted from some Super 8 cine film footage taken on a cold and cloudy day – not the best conditions at all; but some of the other footage is better and more interesting. What’s really good is that once loaded onto a phone it can be used as you move round the exhibits – so we don’t have the outlay of the equipment associated with normal audio trails; plus it’s a lot easier to edit!!

Now I’m back from the ‘lecture circuit’ I’ll bump this one time.

I’m surprised that no one has commented on the Meteor FR9 trials footage; Shackleton ‘wedding sortie’ or the Viper audio comments!! 😮
