..but what happened to the Control Column I donated to Newark Air Museum?

Trying to keep in theme (without a photo) and attempting to answer the question from post #241 – possibly stolen in the 1970s like those from the Percival Prentice!

Friday is update day for Object of the Week. A new object – Liquor Permit from Mount Hope has been added this morning and the Avro photograph has been revised to show Vulcan XA905 at Waddington. On this photograph there’s also a Valiant in the background, which is clearer to see on the original. Details can be found in the usual place!

Thanks for taking time out on Sunday TwinOtter to chat about some of the exciting projects NAM have got coming up, hope they all come to fruition and I’m impressed with the thought and effort you’ve all put in to cater for allcomers to the Museum. I was delighted to see so many people there on Sunday despite the cold and damp and so many from the younger generations too, enjoyed the morning!

No problem – I’m still waiting to get the full feedback about the various style of display panels etc but the general overall feedback was very encouraging.

The Notts Aviation Guide looked good this afternoon and we are starting to firm up release dates with the Council!

I always think the Safir looks like a lovely aeroplane …………

It’s a very elegant and popular aeroplane .. recently someone tried to purchase the ex-Royal Norwegian AF example at Newark, which itself was briefly on the UK Register in the mid-1980s!

To be honest I haven’t had the time to study the picture in that great a detail but I will try and find the time to do so! 😮

,, I think it’s a crime that none of the flight-worthy MRA-4’s are being preserved though… I suppose they present too great an embarrassment to those involved….

They were made available as discussed earlier in this thread and referred to here http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showpost.php?p=1689713&postcount=5 … WADR perhaps too big a project!

A new Object of the Week has been added to news page – a personal brooch that depicted a 40 Squadron Wellington aircrew member who also worked in Nottingham.

Last weeks item has also been updated with an Ashton photograph from the Farnborough Airshow.

    Emails sorted

At long last the Museum has managed to resolve its email problems and now has two new contact addresses:

General enquiries should now be made via: enquire @ newarkairmuseum.org

Shop enquiries should now be made via: namtrading @ newarkairmuseum.org

You will need to remove the spaces above or use the active links highlighted in here!

The museum won’t have seen any emails sent to the old addresses after Friday 7th January 2011. Sorry for that loss of contact! 😮
