This morning I’ve gleaned some visitor information from yesterday’s Aeroboot, which I thought I would share with everyone.

Yesterday there were 150 paid admissions, which might include a few Tractor Show refugees.

At a rough estimate 25 ‘cockipteer’ admissions using the free Cockpit-Fest passes; and perhaps 30 museum member free admissions (several noted as purchasing items for museum aircraft and securing props for Photo Shoots).

Some notable points made to the museum team were:

A possible loss of some ‘plastic model buyers’ due to the clash with the IPMS Nationals at Telford.

Minor traffic issues with Tractor event – sadly always a potential issue with increased Showground events (only resolved when NAM starts using its other access – Visitor Centre project 😉 ).

Start times will move forward and NAM will try to include a period of one hour set-up time before buyers are allowed in.

As previously posted April 2010 seems to be the favourite timing for the next event – to be confirmed.

BUT does NAM try to get more indoor space for sellers by hiring a marquee?

Despite its central location is there really the number of buyers to make an extended NAM event viable?

Further thoughts please – we do want to improve! :confused:

An after thought having seen AM’s post: Would people be prepared to pay a little extra to be housed more centrally (e.g. in marquee) rather than dispersed around the available pockets of space in Hangar 2?

It was good to meet up with a few people today at what seemed like a good event, where many contacts seemed to be made. 😀

A brief thank you message has just gone onto the news page of the museum website. At today’s event the stall holders were surveyed about the possible date of the spring 2010 Indoor Aeroboot at Newark.

At the moment the April date seems to be the preferred option (by a margin of 2 to 1). A final decision on the date and format of the event will be made by the trustees by the end of November;

If anyone has any other comments about the possible event on April 17th 2010 I will ensure that they are considered by the museum trustees before they finalise the date.
