Superb event, run by great people, attended by nutters with a passion!!! Just about dried out – thanks to the hand drier in the gents!!! Great catching up with all, swapping ideas, trying different beers and a nice surprise for me at the end!! Roll on next year – I’ve booked the nice weather already
Sounds like today is the day again (weather permitting) 11.15 and second one around 3.15 (give or take the odd minute of 10!) How cool for a flyby of Cranwell or NAM on the way . . or even my house now i’ve made it home!! 🙂
AAArrrggghhhh . . . . and i’m stuck up in Glasgow!!!! 🙁
I have a couple of panels that need dropping off . . might pop up for lunch – can never resist the cheese and ham toasties!!! 🙂
Cold War Tour – 2014 . . . 🙂

Technically, I’m in Nottinghamshire as well . . but prefer to think of it as being in Lincs Notts post code, Lincs phone number . . Lol
Hi there . . chatting with a very excited Mike at NAM last Thursday, it sounds like the only bits and pieces missing are a few instruments, which I think have now been pretty much sourced – Richard and myself have a fair old collection of parts indeed, having had chance over the last few years to have already seen the interior of 726, pretty much complete, just in need of a lot of tlc!!! Looking like we can now look forward to a Dominie event at the museum soon!! Lincolnshire can now boast a cockpit, a fuselage and complete airframe . . all under cover!!
Cheers Mike – nice chatting to you as well 🙂 Paint job is superb I have to admit – credit to the Serco chaps!! Hopefully, next time you see it, i’ll have had chance to put everything back inside . . just finishing the internal painting, then can start to refit from front to back, even will include the toilet!! lol . .
Tony – thanks for the heads up mate 🙂
Well, i’ve got all the bits for the interior and i’ve just been waiting for the paint job to be finished then I will throw in all in! Also, got to add a few touches of the old ‘cockpit grey’ to the interior first. All the panels have been painted, Dominie bulkheads sourced, seats gleaming, instrument panel at the ready . . although it’s going up to Waddington this weekend, so it will be there as an exterior only view . . but hopefully will have a few bits and pieces fitted inside prior to East Kirkby in August!!
OK all, been a while, but thought i’d show you what it looks like now 🙂 i’m not hiding the fact it’s still the same HS 125 series 3B underneath, but having now teamed up with the RAFBF, certainly gets more attention looking like this 🙂

Hi all, have to add my weight to the superb event theme here 🙂 Although similarly, I also have to own up to being one of the ‘non-attendees’!! My cockpit is away being painted currently and was no way it could have made the day – NAM were kept fully up to date just on the off chance it was going to be ready!
It’s quite interesting ready here about peoples personal favourites, both themes and individual displays. I think all should be commended for giving up their time to drag some of these wonderful displays from all over the country – I know the A-26 crew had a monstrous trip from way down south as did a few of the ‘pointy nose demons’ 🙂 28mpg!?!? With that beast in tow!!! lol . .
And without wishing to start another debate about peoples displays etc . . the budgets that are ‘on display’ vary greatly as well. From museum displays with potential resources available (tools, etc and not just ££’s) down to those of us wanting to wait and pay pennies lol . . each and everyone should be applauded!! I loved the P-51 – mate, got some great ideas from you!! 🙂
At the end of the day, whether it be cockpit or display, group or individual, we’re all in it for the same thing – a hobby, a passion, keeping the aviation them buzzing!! 🙂 Can’t wait until next year!!
Hi there Brian,
I have sent you a PM as one of those is just what I need 🙂
Cheers
Andy
No worries Steve, just let me know if you’d like me to put you in touch . . you never know!! 🙂
Hi there Steve! I was recently involved with an event near Newark and we too struggled with any kind of flypast – and that was even with the RAFBF trying to push things!! I did however manage to get a local chap to give us a very very spirited couple of flypast’s, which considering the weather being a little blustery, was superb! His aircraft was a gorgeous little Auster with genuine WW2 history. If you’re struggling I can but ask although the distance may be a bit off putting for him . .
Cheers
Andy
Howard, I’m the good looking bald one in the video 🙂 without glasses!! Lol . .
