Really enjoyable report. The only airlines I have come across that put the seat belt signs on at TOD are charter airlines. It was explained to me that this was because they could get all the rowdy pax quietened down and into their seats without causing cahos on final approach, although I’m not sure how true this is, or if its any reflection on the pax BMI expects. Surely not, as bmi-star flies with them 😀

No Avros at LGW any more, only 2 146s go there now, one from the Isle of Man and one from Inverness, both based at the destination and not LGW.

I was quite surprised at that too, I can’t think of many places where they go to the “correct” airport!
London – Riga used to be the preserve of BA only, but now we have BA, Ryanair, and Air Baltic on it. Yet another place to add to my “Prospective weekends away” list 😀

I find it quite amusing that everyone is moaning about Alitalia asking BA to increase its prices, when BA sucessfully managed to persuade Alitalia to increase its prices several years ago!

Any shot of that beauty is incredible. I remember still being able to make out her distinctive noise despite being inside a 733, engines running and people talking all around me. Superb aircraft 😀
