V8-ALI was the Brunei 744 parked up at LHR for about 3 months (or at least it felt like it!)
THE accident I think?
And how could you forget the Brunei 744 that spent half of last year sat outside the BMI hangar!
The confusing bit is they paint the VIP aircraft in the same colours as the National Airline, so you are never quite sure what is what! The Saudis also have 29 McDonnell MD-90s but I don’t think they are ALL used for VIP transport!
I had completely forgotton the Saudis!!!
Heres the list at my last count although its probably more:
2 A340
3 BAe 125s
3 707s
1 727
1 737 BBJ1
1 737 BBJ2
1 743
1 744
3 747SPs
1 757
1 767
2 Falcon 900s
5 Gulfstream 2s
3 Gulfstream 3s
7 Gulfstream 4s
1 Lear Jet 35
2 Lear Jet 45s
13 C130 Hercules’
3 L1011 Tristars
1 MD11
😮
The Middle Eastern countries have a lot of nice Private Jets. The UAE has the best lot:
1 A319
1 Beech 350
1 Gulfstream 4
6 737 BBJs
1 747-200
3 747-400s
3 747SPs
1 767 (On lease to Etihad)
Qatar have a 320, a 319, a 310, 2 340s, and a Global Express.
The only 777 I can think of belongs to Mid East Jet who operate 2 BBJs, a 757, a 767, and a 777 (N777AS) but these don’t just operate for one person, they are more of a charter specialist.
It was taken in 1998 😉
Was the Blue Line Fokker in on a charter? I know they are French but not sure exactly where they come from?
Those first 2 Embraer shots are ace, as well as that FCA one. Nice to see BZAY as well although she was at Birmingham when I flew on her.
Its a freight carrier, bringing in an engine for Firstchoice I believe.
Glad you saw the AN22, first visit to MAN I believe. The RJ100 you saw would have been G-TBAE, a BAe 146-100 that shuttles BAe Systems employees from Warton to Farnborough twice a day.
Aaaargh!! Its the dreaded Peach yoghurt!!!!!! My last 4 BA flights have had that damn peach yoghurt on all of them, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner!!!!!
Interesting, they are all currently with Britannia Airways Sweden and on the Swedish register at the moment…
Love those things, saw one of their white 741s and one of these painted 742s in Amsterdam the other day, superb aircraft!!
