Indeed, it was quite spectacular! I was lucky enough to be there.
BTW, does anyone have a list of all the different aircraft (regs preferably) that took part. I have a poster/painting/print of the event, and I believe that the Concorde was AF, but apart from that not much else?
Hmm, I can see them now. Must be those damned college PCs

Sort of gives it away Andrew
😀
Lots of little crosses for me sadly 🙁
I think Andrew (A330 Crazy) got a lot of what you saw though, albiet from a few miles down the road!
Kev is of course absolutely right:

They takes them into LGW sometimes too.
Seen many of these coming into LHR from SU, never been hit by a part. Indeed compard to the majority of A340s that go out of CDG these ones look positively first class, brand new, and built to last!
Early 1990s I reckon, so coming up for retirement dates soon. I would imagine BA will look at getting rid of their CFM engined ones soon too. Presumably the rest of the Iberia Airbus fleet use IAEs?
Ah thanks very much, we are hard done by then! Lots of circuit breakers though 😮
Thanks for the response WD and the links to the videos. The ERJ is a very interesting plane, one that I like flying in FS quite a lot (The closest I’ll ever get 🙁 ) However one thing that I only got a few short looks at was the overhead panel. In FS we only get it portrayed as a very narrow strip, and I was wondering if you could maybe take a few photos of it, as a general overview please?
Thanks,
Mark
Nice pics, although surely in the first one the fact that the airspeed/mach number is red shows you are overspeeding?
God I love those things 😮
They still own 3 or 4 742s, and lease a couple of 743s from Air Atlanta
Thanks Allen, not as big a deal as I interpreted it then!
Excellent shots as ever. BA seem to be using the Dash 8 even more to EDI and GLA now, with the ERJs going on to other things from MAN. Any idea which one that is in your pic?
Fortunatley my experiences of BA have not been anything like this, however I would recomend some email communication as well, telling them how ****ed off you are with them and the fact that they haven’t even given you an explanation.
Besides, you have nothing to lose, and it shouldn’t cost you anything 🙂
