Yup, was the 1st A318 EVER into MAN, you witnessed history there! 😀
Surprised it didn’t get a water cannon salute, I know it did when it came into LHR.
Once again amadeus does NOT tell you the information required, just that it is run with an A340, not a specific type.
Just checked some more and the only routes that appear to have been droppped by BA are the Shetland routes, and there was only one of these, Leriwck – Fair Isle. However in that case why are Loganair not selling the tickets either, unless they have dropped the route on the sly?
Still very confused, as BA are still selling tickets for the routes all the way up to December!
Yeah I know that, but why are BA still selling tickets for flights that the Islanders operate?
Surely a franchise is the whole thing, colours, staff uniforms, selling the tickets, using BA standard product throughout etc, as is standard throughout Loganair.
However as Bmused and myself have pointed out the only thing that has changed is the livery, which if thats the only thing thats changed surely shouldn’t be constituted as a “franchise”, just purely a colourscheme.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to discredit anyone, I’m just confused as to what the term “rfanchise” actualy means in this case! 🙂
Some also have ETOPs certification printed on them too!
Ahhh yes, silly me!
Sounds nice EGNM, didn’t realise the wx was so bad up north today! Just FYI BRT RJ100s (As BHX has no 146s) rotate around the 3 bases as do the ERJ145s around their 5 bases and the DHC 8s around their 2 (At least last time I checked  )
They are having biiig problems with the ERjs and are trying to offload them ASAP. ERJ170s have been deferred indefinitly.
Key wording in your orginal post: airliners.net forums. The number of times panic has set in because of some of the rubbish posted there is unbelievable.
Those IL96s are simply stunning! Really would like to fly on one! very nice shots!
TLS and AMS for me, hopefully should be able to visit them this year! Just an amazing array of planes in both places!
I don’t really think that they will ever go to a fully “western” fleet of aircarft. The IL96 is still on order for them and is running well on many of their routes, but also don’t forget that an Airbus or a Boeing could never operate the same routes as the TU154s and TU134s simply due to the lack of durability on some of SUs less desirable routes becasuse of the terrain and climate that is Russia.
If you can find me the info on these I would be VERY greatful! AFAIK the only one flying was the Aero Continente one, and that has since been retired…
I assume FR did not put you up in that hotel Wingflaps?!?!
Jeansk, loads of schools close with the weather over here, usualy due to their archaic heating systems! I was one of thousands with the day off yesterday lucky me!
