I see they got the gates working while you there! They have just changed them, so that if anything approaches them airside, they open up, and some idiot drove his van up to the gates and then parked up by a shed, setting them off and creating a huge traffic jam!
Despite this however the actual barriers stopping cars from driving into the planes have been replaced, and still don’t work! Now every time they want to get a plane across they have to call the police to block the road!

What on earth were you sneering at A330! 😀
Ren, on the A320’s there is a plate on the panel to your right just after you board the plane, which has the reg, SELCAL, and aircraft type on. Very useful for when you can’t see anything at Heathrow!

Concorde flys every day now, and whatever day you go there will always be something even more out of the ordinary than normal.

Stornoway eh? The locals won’t be too happy about jet’s coming in. I remember they protested about props coming in on a Sunday, although I suppose it is lightly different.
Is the runway up there long enough to take 737’s? it seems quite small to me.
What do you think about it Ren, viable?

Also in case you hadn’t picked it up, Concorde now uses the same runways as everyone else, so you will see her depart on 27L, and land on 27R.
I can’t get hold of a TAF, but it is possible that the runways could switch to 09’s tomorrw, it is an 8 knots crosswind ATM.

Heathrow is going to be closed for the duration of the fly past I believe.
Sadly I will be in Copenhagen on a Business Studies trip (They sure know how to pick the dates!)

I think it makes sense for EI really, Airbus gives them commonality with their younger fleet, and possibly might help maintenace wise through OneWorld with BA? Not sure about the last bit though!
