Sorry, just saw you are going to Australia. In that case £560 is a VERY cheap fare and most definitely will not be refundable.
THIS would suggest that you can get a refund, good luck!:D

That will be subject to the ticket conditions however. I would be hugely surprised if a £500 ticket to BKK was refundable.
You should be able to get your taxes back though and they should amount to around £75-£150 after admin fees.
£560 is a pretty cheap ticket for Asia (Bangkok I presume?)
If you wanted a refundable one you would have been paying well in excess of £1k for the privilige.
Do you have a Blue card or a Blue Plus card? Only a Blue Plus card will get you free catering.
It is never a good idea to buy an economy saver ticket. Economy Standard is only £2-£5 more expensive in the vast majority of cases, allows you to select your seat and crucially is also changeable. It also gives you a few more miles IIRC too.
Seems that with all the admirable efforts of airlines like bmi and easyJet to help out with stranded XL flights, they are sacrificing their own scheduled operations as well. 6 hour delay and counting on my flight to Athens this afternoon. Ah well, at least I’m actualy going somewhere unlike a lot of disappointed people this morning. 🙁
What do you mean? Where are you getting the information from that “Manx Airlines” are flying in South Africa?
You can hear this most clearly in the 737 and also the A320 series of aircraft. Anything bigger than that you are usually too far back and anything smaller than that is usually too noisy to hear the person next to you, let alone noises from the flightdeck! :p
It used to be Farnborough based and used the callsign Sharjah One. Kingdom is one of the big Saudi Royal Fleets so I presume they have taken the management of it over and moved it over to Gatwick…
Are those taken from The Swan?
It is F-WWDD in some rubbish corporate Airbus scheme, not the nice one it was in last Farnborough.
Made quite an impressive display over my garden this morning as ever!
Great to have you back Dan! Hope everything went well and looking forward to having a good old catch up soon.
Fantastic shots to start us all off with too! 😀
Have you ever flown AA business class??
Many times. Of the current generation of lie flat seats it is one of the worst configurations possible, the staff are usually dreadful and the food service is mediocre on a good day. The even more worrying thing is that food and service are identical between First and Business Class.
That said I will continue to fly AA in all their 3 classes over the next 6 months, almost entirely down to the ridiculous ease with which it is possible to access the Premium cabins and because of the generousness of the AAdantage programme.
Exactly, the Advertising Standards Authority got hold of them and forced them to change such an obviously misleading title! :diablo:
however, if you are staying in the UK for a day or more and then getting an onward flight, then it seems right that they should be made to pay along with everyone else?
Which they do.
Transit = Layover less than 24 hours
Stopover = Layover over 24 hours
If you transit you don’t pay APD
If you stopover you do pay APD
Would you sell your car to the first ‘chav’ that came along or to a car enthusiast who would respect it and look after it..?
That would depend if my car was a Ford Fiesta or a Ferrari Enzo. 😉
I think bmi comes out more in the Ford Fiesta bracket if I’m honest…
