Aaah, the traditional English way of doing things. Discuss it to death and waste millions in the process. Eventually make a decision, to find that the original specs that were being discussed have changed, so have to discuss it some more. Make an ammended decision, and in the case of brand new aircraft, join a queue with deliveries 10 years later. By which time everything else has moved forward and your left playing catch up again!

Am i wrong? Just think of our airports and especially the Heathrow fiasco!

Yup I’d agree with you there!

However Willy Walsh is not English, lets hope that means something!

They were talking about this is in the Mail this morning in a feature with all the big BA execs. One of them was explained a saying that the fuel costs would have to be managed, debt reduced further, and considerable cash reserves built up before any new long haul investment was made.

If we look at it the time isnt really right for any Long Haul investment now, so I would guess this review will be looking about 5 years ahead, with the A380 well established, and both the 787 and A350 online.

I think you misread the post ZB507. It looks like Monarch Scheduled may be starting routes from Aberdeen to the continent, not Gatwick.

The Gatwick mention was just a joke if you re-read the full post again.

Pilatus PC12s were designed as executive prop aircraft, and there are several of them being used commercially in North America, although they are banned from doing so over here. You get the ocassional outfit using King Airs for a similar purpose over here too.

Cant really think of anyone using Biz Jets like a Gulfstream or a Citation though?

At the moment the only Very Light Jets (VLJ) really come from Raytheon with their Premier 1. Cessna are next up with the Mustang, and there are a number of smaller comapnies such as Eclipse making their own versions.

I think Embraer have once again seen the way the market is likely to develop in the next 10 years with more people wanting small, fast, and economical private jets, largely for business use (efficiency and productivity) with a few more of the social elites being able to pick them up for only a few million as well.

The development costs will undoubtadley be higher than the Legacy which as you say was just an ERJ135 spin off, but I think this decision will pay off for Embraer within the next 10 years.

Erm, that looks exactly like the lounge I sat in for 5 hours last Easter after Air Southwest cancelled my flight. I think the seat colour has changed though…?

Certainly doesnt cure my nightmares of having to endure more than 30 minutes in there again…

All airlines do make the stop when crossing the pond, either on the way in or on the way out.

Wow great news for Dublin indeed. Its been crying out for a middle eastern link for a while, but I always thought Emirates or Qatar would get in there first. Well done Gulf Air.

Tomorrow Eastern Airways are positioning a Jetstream down from Humberside to operate a Fairford charter from Farnborough. Positoning flight is twice as long as the actual revenue flight

Erm no it wasnt actually. They picked up on it when going through into the airport building actualy. I’m not sure what they would have done if I’d told them I was spotting?
