2 years of operations, surely not, only seems like yesterday EGNM was keeping quiet about potential routes on this forum!

Yeah I guess so. The Beacon pod looks irregularly large too…

Bumping this one back up again. A Senior member of the Royal Family flew form here to Liverpool today with an entourage of 11, meaning the 146 was in use in place of the usual 125. Both 146s have now been repainted into this low viz scheme, I caught ZE700 at AMS last week being wheeled out of the paint shop.

Those 762s are showing as exported to the UK, but still nto on the Uk register. Usually its an instantaneous thing.

Non-UK citizens can get an honorary Knighthood (Terry Wogan, Ireland, got one this time round), although I think it might be different for Commonwealth countries?

Ah I suppose DSA might spread the movements a little, however will still be better than down here when everything was split between:

    Farnborough
    Luton
    Biggin Hill
    Northolt
    Heathrow

Most people usually come for the proper “Royal” day, I think its the Saturday but Im really not too sure?

You will get loads of Biz Jets, quite a few of the bigger Arab planes SPs etc, and also the horse transporters such as the AN72/4s that I have been posting pics of recently, and also things like TNT 146s. If you are lucky the big Arab transporters will be along too. The UAE guys use a 742F, and the Saudis have an MD11F!

Would be interesting seeing all that lot at LBA!!!

You WILL get lucky for the Royal Asoct Tom, when its down here the traffic is spread between 4 or 5 London airports, and each one always gets something interesting. Theres little alternative for them this year than Leeds, so prepare for some VERY interesting movements!!!

No way they will give up MME-LHR. I promise.

They have now got the new Airbuses in on the LHR routes such as MME and LBA, absolutely no chance they will give it up.

That kind of certainity and bmi just do not go together anymore Tom. No one knows what the hell they are playing at. 🙁

Great shots! Shame you could not make it to the Kaagbaan. Maybe next time?

I hope so Peter. We departed from the Polderbaan, gives you a real sense of perspective of the size of the airfield when you taxi in a striaght line for 20 minutes across motorways, fields, dykes, more fields, another motorway, and finally onto the runway! :p
