The Alamo was a fort in texas when mexico owned texas. Alot of americans were settling there and after a while mexico wanted them out. So general Santa Ana brought forces up to expel the americans and after a long bloody fight eventually killed all who were there. This started the Mexican/American war under the cry “remember the alamo” where the US invaded mexico and took not only texas but california, arizona, utah, new mexico, nevada, colorado, oklahoma. There werent hardly any mexicans in most these states as they are mostly either deserts or mountains.

MG TD (circa 1952) for the love of God, please put this car back into production! Theve put the morgan back into production, and MG is back in bussiness producing new cars. And if it is produced again, DONT try to modenize it.

Theres a good chance you wont be able to run old Microsoft OSs on newer laptops, not even win2K, because they wont recognize newer drivers. Especially not Dell who is sold out on MS. You can get sony laptops for example configured to run win2K.

sqausher- I agree with you that flemenco is a fantastic music. It has alot of simularitys with jazz in that it is a freeform lamenting music of a poor minority group, being mixture of Classical european music with middle eastern modes and harmonys. Like jazz, people think its just artsy music to just be performed, not really for listening too on its own. People dont see that subconciously weve assimulated both jazz and flamenco as part of the mainstream music which has given a new range of freedom on how music is formed. People are numbed to jazz and flamencos influence because its so deeply ingrained as a normal part of music. Famous spanish pop singer Alejandro Sanz has a flamenco singing background and uses the flemenco style to great affect in songs like “amiga mia”.

mongu- South Africa hasnt got their gripens yet have they? I dont think theyre supposed to get them till 2007. Most all of their current fighter jets are not servicable. Even their armys doesnt have much of any servicable equipement. Basically all they have is a very large standing army that is very undertrained and equiped which isnt much different than any other african nation.

But Actually I think the US is a pretty good country that is just getting a little drunk with power. The only thing that bothers me about the US is an underlying childness that has surfaced the last few years. Its like in kindergarten when a bunch of kids get together and in-crowd thing going. I live in mexico now where life is a bit more serious, and people dont have time to jerk other people around with petty games.

The Dash-8 is far supperior to the Saab2000, and exemplifies everthing a tuboprop airliner should be. The Saab2000 in my opinion is a lousy attempt to try do achieve jet performance with a tuboprop. It has a small narrow fuselage with giant engines, and a high wingloading that makes both lo and hi altititude performance a little to hot and therefoe dangerous for what a turbopop should be. The Dash-8 though not quite as fast as the Saab2000 is still quite fast for a turbopop at about 300 kts, that acheived with engines that are much smaller and a fuleslage thats much larger. Its a very safe plane to fly with excellent short takeoff and landing carachteristics and even rough field capability. Its also extremely quiet which I think is an important consideration as small airlines are populating more small outlying airports nowadays.
