For those who do not:

Handley Page Herald G-CEXP currently resides with the Gatwick Airport Fire Service and its condition is deteriorating rapidly.

The fire service would love to see the aircraft go to a good home,
but it is at risk of being scrapped in the not too distant future.

This group aims to preserve G-CEXP for future generations by transporting it to another location and restoring it for others to enjoy.

…and it looks like the group may be contactable in the near future by other means than Facebook……;)

XJ615 was the Hawker Hunter T.Mk.7 prototype (Hawker P.1101), issued to the Empire Test Pilots School at Boscombe Down after completion of the type’s test programme.

Written off 24/6/1964: crashed when the engine flamed out due to mismanagement of the fuel booster pump switches following fuel transfer failure. The aircraft struck trees on high ground in lifting fog 1¾ miles SE of Haslemere, Surrey killing the French pilot

NOTE: To confuse matters, a Hawker T.Mk.7 was painted up as “XJ615” when acquired by a private owner after being sold off by the Royal Navy in the mid-1990s. However, this aircraft was really G-BWGL (ex-XF357, a former FRADU/Royal Navy Hunter T.Mk.8C).

This Hawker Hunter two-seater is now based in The Netherlands, Leeuwarden AFB.

possibly of the “Wings of Storm” Croatian military aerobatic display team,
flies just a few feet above the ground in places,
at a calculated 260mph (420kmh, 225knots).

In addition to 90-degree-plus bank angles,
flying between trees,
and buzzing traffic on the roads,
he (at the end) flies underneath the Mirna road bridge (in Western Croatia).
