They do list the participants a few weeks beforehand (helps get us all excited before the big weekend !)
…it’s called Showmanship!!!! 😀
I can’t wait…the eve of Legends!!! I feel like a child on Christmas Eve!!! 😮
Get the boat to pick you up on its way back!!! 😀
Valetta is worthy of a day! There is a smallish museum in Valetta as well as the underground war rooms! The Museum in Valetta (can’t recall its name 😮 ) has remains of one of the Gladiators.
Once youve spent your Day in Valetta jump on one of the Buses and get out to the Museum! Its fantastic with lots of friendly people there too. Their Hurricane is making superb progress…
Enjoy!
All that structure and the pilot still sits outside! 😀 awesome!
Thanks for posting the pic!!
And you wonder why the people who work on these aeroplanes rarely appear in print on these pages..??
You haven’t got a clue, have you……?
fair enough! 😮
all you guys bitching about the colours well be thankfull that the planes survived, all they are doing is paying tribute to the men who lost their lives during one of the most daring campaigns of world war2. so the code is wrong! tough! live with it!
😡 Well another thread ruined!
teal’c i understand your point but why does it have to be put across in such an aggresive manor?
People just passing an opinion on a colour scheme, i don’t think anyone here needs reminding about the ‘significance’ of this or any other aircraft…thats why we are intrested and passionate. I see this thread as heathy discussion and very educational.
I don’t want to open a ‘moral’ debate its just that posts like yours really hack me off! 😡
Daz…yes, finding a home for these big models is certainly a problem – the only place big enough for my Spit is the sideboard…finding a bookcase that’s wide enough is a bit of a job
You won’t be buying the Corgi 1:32 Mosquito thats due next month then!!! 😀 … and i thought Duxford had problems finding homes for aeroplanes!!! 🙂
[QUOTE=Robbo]How’s about a link that works?
😮 Ah yes the old dodgy link ploy eh!!!!! Sorry! 🙁
Superb pics Hattton, like many other people ‘Old Airfields’ have an appeal, not sure how or why just something…
I live near Finmere and quite often ive driven by on a late summers evening, stopped and had a look, i’d love to get closer to the tower but i have had a ‘sneak’ at what used to be the main entrance where there are some buildings and bunkers still standing…super stuff
Ahh good old IWM Retail!
Daz, Corgi run a Spares department which are quite useful worth a ring!
personally, i dont bother with the corgi models. they all look rather crappy, and excessivley fragile for how much they cost. its £90 for a 1/32 spit at duxford, now thats just silly money.
erm a think you might be buying yours in the wrong place! 1:32 spits are less than £40.00 at the moment!
NO PHOTOS AT HAWKINGE! Oh bl@@dy ell!!! Heres me armed up with my new digital camera!!! Gutted! 😡
Can’t say i have an outright favourite, just some memorable ones that sort of leave you thinking, wow! Some from last year include..
The Yak display team at Little Gransden and Rougham…in recent years the prescence of things like Yaks usually mean that its time to go get some food etc, however this year for some reason i stopped looked and listened! Simply Brilliant! 🙂 Hope to see them again this year!
Denny Dobson at Elvington! Similar sindrome to above however i am now a convert! Awesome!
Spitfire display at Old Warden evening shows! Something very special indeed a Spitfire display at old warden on a summers evening, the noise the atmosphere truely unique.
The Flying Legends Balbo on the Saturday of last years Legends. After the tragic events of earlier that day what a wonderful way to show respect to the two airman that were lost…lump in the throat and a tear in the eye… 🙁
Could go on but just a few ‘thoughts’ i thought i’d share…
🙂
See you Sunday VP!!!!!
Nice work TFC, bring on Legends! Can’t wait any longer!!!! 😀
