If people are going to paint aircraft in authentic schemes, they MUST be right! I supplied Shuttleworth with all the reference photos for the Tutor. Although they are b/w, it is quite obvious the top decking should be RED!

Quite agree Albert, my comment was made in jest, Have you told them?

Does anyone feel the £15:00 entry fee is a bit on the steep side?

Went with Mrs and by the time we had bought a programme and a bite to eat it turned into a £50 evening out! Don’t get me wrong i love OW but the first two shows of the year haven’t left me with that warm feeling

To compound the issue we went with two friends who had never been before, id spent all winter convincing them that they ought to go, so they did but i get the feeling they are in no hurry to go back. 🙁

I don’t remember last years evening shows being £15:00 a pop??!!??

Tickets for DX D-Day show i believe are only £18:00 but there is a huge difference between OW and DX!

Fully expect to be shot down in flames over this one but im just voicing an opinion.

Is it time to sign up to SVAS???

Source at Hurn – How many times did you see their Vampires or Venoms last year? Sea Vixen? Why did the Canberra and Meteor go to Australia? Not enough bookings. Our jet scene has never been so full and yet so few bookings.

It’s a two way thing, there must be a reason why the ‘jets’ aren’t book? price? budget? public appeal? …

don’t get me wrong i don’t have the answers 🙁 as Steve has mentioned its a celebration of people too.

The thing is people are moaning about “the same old flightline” anyone been to Old Warden in the last few years, you don’t see them draft in too many visitors…(not that im complaining about that…)

Personally im tempted to give the Isle of Wight a go for D-Day…

Two Wildcat’s? Didn’t know they had one airworthy. Don’t you feel a little cheated that they bring all this RAF stuff in on a cheap rate rather than going out and looking for different aircraft. You pay a lot of money to go to these shows and all they do is hit redial on their phone. I feel lucky everytime I see anything fly, but come on guys put some effort in.

    …your suggestions then????

What puzzles me is why did they bother to make it as they couldn’t improve on “Tora, Tora Tora”?

Ah yeah but there was one vital ingredient missing from ‘Tora Tora Tora’…the LOVE TRIANGLE! 😉

Do the people who make these films honestly sit back at the end of it all, watch it for the first time and say

“Well done guys this film is brilliant”

Do the actors really feel they have done the whole thing justice, are they really that uneducated…

The only decent bit with this film is … nah wait a minute there is no decent bit!

[QUOTE=Manonthefence]Do you seriously think that this wont go the way of (the awful) Pearl Harbour and not be a mostly CGI affair?

I didn’t think that the whole thing would be CGI!!!!

    unfortunatly im no film expert!

I’m also going through this dilemma however both Old Warden and Brunty are less than 30 mins from my house..

I had decided on OW however its been raining here the past two days and the weather forecast shows more rain over the weekend 🙁 🙁

Can’t see much happening at OW based on this so i think its Brunty for me on Sunday.

Corsair 166b, your idea is far too radical, anyway lets just call this ‘forward planning’ :p Besides what else are we supposed to do on this forum!! I do take on board your point though. As I mentioned earlier we will have to ‘wait and see’

Chuck, i did think that about the CGI however surely they would use real warbirds for some parts of the film, close ups and ground shots???

Nice work by the way from ‘The Fly In The Ointment’ department, now youve gone a ruined the film all together 😀

Apparently they will be using Mustangs instead of Spitfires and P40’s instead of Hurricanes… 🙁

my post was made in jest! 😉
