3 live Buccs! 🙂
On sept 3-4 there will be a 100 years of Fokker aircraft fly- in as well at the Aviodrome
A few formations were flown on Sunday over the the lakes close to Lelystad, but the weather was dark and dull.
I was some 20kms away from Lelystad, at home, but was able to shoot some farway pics as the DC2, Lightning and Piaggo or FW trainer formated over the lakes. In sunnyweather both of these unique silverposlished aircraft would have made for excellent pictures!
Later on, the Flamant also formated with the same trainer.
It’s a real pity that the National Aviation Museum Aviodrome is never able to host a full blown airshow at this active GA airport.
”Better half an egg than a empty shell” is what we say though..
Does that make 4 Meteors flying now in the UK?
The T7 and the NF 11 and the two Martin-Baker testbeds?
I say time for a formation photo!:)
Good Ones Anna, as always, how many shows do you travel in a season? you certainly seem to be all over the place 😎
I like the Hawker biplanes, still looking for a really good shot of the fourship of the Hawkers..
Are any more under rebuild?
Nice set Andy. The Wellington and Heinkel had me going for a bit!
Same here! Good pics, if it was not for the engine nacelles on the 111, it looked the real bit
Great pics of the Schwalbe, can’t wait to see it team up with one of the Meteors still flying in Europe.
nice ones!
Nice shots Nick, liked the Buchons on your blog
Brilliant shots Brian,
I like the Buchon- and Hawker biplane and Curtiss formations!
These modern helmets on the Swordwish crew make them look like the Teletubbies 😀
there was a time….long ago, when I thought of the Lynx being a beautiful aircraft..with that sleek black shiny nose..no more.. today it looks more like a warehouse stowaway for electro-optical equipment…
still a good picture.. of a ugly stowage rack..
..retire..
awesome Tonka, even if she had the same turn ratio as the Hunter that was phased out fifteen years before she was put in service.. at least she held a decent belly of fuel and carried a full rack of missiles…
Indeed a missed opportunity, but with BOB having a tight schedule, i guess they could not chime in for a five-ship.
Meanwhile on the other side of the pond, a equally rare formation was put together on the sacramanto airshow in California on 9/11; a four-or five ship p38 formation
There was a fourship p38 on arrivalday in sacramento

The BBMF’s Hurricane had landed shortly before the other 4 ‘scrambled’ on Saturday meaning there were 5 airworthy ones on the airfield. It’s a pity the BBMF machine didn’t join the party but seeing the four-ship was special enough.

I agree with all said about the Huricane formation. I find that more special than a squadron of spits. I read on fencecheck that there were actually five hurricanes present?
