oooww 🙂
great advice!! don’t understand all, but hope to get some on the job training on the bus on the way to duxford.
I guess if i screw up I can always download your pictures here on sunday evening and put them on my memorycard back in the cam 😀
Would a ring (is it called convector ring?) to increase to 400 be helpful? I know it takes light away, but shouldn’t the digital technology give more breathing space here?
Would that change any of your advice given prior?
Skybert inbound for Duxford
I will be taking the grand bus & ferry tour from Utrecht to Calais-Dover-Duxford and back from friday night till sunday morning together with Skybert Senior, so will love to be in front of the Beau with all of you guys..:)
Nice ones Vlado..
just keep the nametags a bit more sober, they really distract from the image itself, if I may say so..;)
Any images of J-366 in your colletions Crizz? I also looked at the site but the contactform mail bounced..
Bert
As far as I know the towns council voted by minimal majority that the plane would be disposed of, rather than having it restored. I guess it’s up for grabs
I still think that aircraft on the movie frame is one of Belgian Hurricanes. Aircraft used by RAF squadrons in France (including 501 Sqn) should have white and black undersides of wings. Am I right?
Don’t think so Gretza; the colour pic one looks like a threeblader to me..
great pic anyway
The other thing that caught my eye are the two aircraft in the background right (and perhaps one left of the Viscount’s port main gear).
Of the two on the right, the left most is probably an Avro York from the high wing and three fins. What’s the other one? Its four engined, low winged, single finned and has a tail wheel. My immeadiate reaction was Fw200… which seems pretty improbable. Could it be an Avro Tudor?
Here’s about the best blow up / ‘enhance’ I can manage:
Hi Ray Jade; I saw these pic’s now for the first time, what a fascinating time machine these pictures are! As for this blowup, i flipped through all the pages but may have missed anyones reply. If no one did; my guess is your ” four engined, low winged, single finned and has a tail wheel” object is a HP Hastings
Great pictures, fantastic clarity. Just the last shot of the thunderbirds crew is confusing..
That the pilot is ready to undo the bra for the grandfinale is clear, but why are the guys undoing theirs???:D
Has the BBMF Lanc ever been pitured together with Jane?
Wouldn’t it be great to have the BBMF Lanc drop in for a cup of tea at East Kirkby, rather than just overflying the place?
Thanks for sharing these pictures. Was there any flying with the historic aircraft during this event at Lelystad?
At least on saturday there was a formation of dc-6 with 2 dc 3’s or the dc 2 flying; they came over my part of town, but I was not in a good spot to have a good view.. 🙁
Not quite brambles – will gum trees do?
ex-RAAF Anson I A4-26 at Anama Station, Clare, South Australia 1966
U sure those are not eucalyptus trees?
I lived down under as a kid in 66-72.. have great memories of eucalyptus tree smells, magpies and kookaburra’s and Goanna salamander dragon’s larger than me in the playhouse..
It’s the Orao from Serbia, Simon
Mark, Olivier, Richard; thanks very much for your replies. I am surprized that it’s actually from a Mustang…next thing to do of course is find out what crash it came from. it’s probably from a Dutch crash site…and look for actual pics of a cockpit to find out how it looked complete.. This is how it looks in IL-2 sims..
regards
Bert
In the bushes
two jets that were used for Aircraft Battle Damage Repair workshops for sheetmetal engineers.
GREAT PICS!
did the FW 190 fly; i presume not, was it flyable at all?
